10 Star Wars Characters Who Should Be In Jedi: Survivor DLC

With the massive success of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, many players will be hoping for Cal’s adventures to continue in a DLC expansion. Although EA and Respawn Entertainment have not confirmed any plans for a Jedi: Survivor DLC, that has not stopped fans from speculating and wishing. But with a whole galaxy of characters to choose from, who should join Cal and the crew?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is already packed with missions and planets to explore, so a DLC would have to add something special to warrant its creation. Adding an established Star Wars character would be a great reason for Cal to leave Koboh or Tanalorr. With many familiar faces active during 9 BBY when Jedi: Survivor is set, there are some intriguing options for developers.

10 Saw Gerrera

The veteran resistance fighter Saw Gerrera is mentioned in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor but not seen, so having him in a DLC makes a lot of sense. Known for his extreme methods, Cal first met Saw in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Kashyyyk. At the beginning of Jedi: Survivor, Cal and his team have been working for Saw’s Partisans for some time, meaning that he and Cal still have a good working relationship.

Saw Gerrera would be one of the easiest characters to insert into a DLC because of his pre-established connection to Cal. Saw could have heard about Cal’s exploits or the attack on Jedha and reach out to Cal with a mission. It would be easy to make any mission with or for Saw self-contained for the purposes of a Jedi: Survivor DLC, as Saw’s methods often involve secrecy and infiltration.

9 Han Solo And Chewbacca

Han Solo and Chewbacca

Some major Star Wars events take place between Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor. One of these is the meeting of Han Solo and Chewbacca in 10 BBY. After defeating the former leader of Crimson Dawn and winning the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian, Han and Chewie set off on their adventures.

It would be a ton of fun for Cal to run into these two scoundrels in a Jedi: Survivor DLC. Having them show up in Pyloon’s Saloon would be a fantastic introduction, and watching Han and Greez interact would be worth the money on its own. Another fun twist could be to have Cal conceal his Jedi abilities when around them, which would make for a fun challenge on missions but also preserve Han’s opinions about the Force that he voices in A New Hope.

8 Obi-Wan Kenobi

Ewan McGregor in Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one very busy Jedi in 9 BBY, dealing with the kidnapping of Leia Organa, facing Darth Vader, and saving Luke Skywalker from the Third Sister. While all this happens in the same year as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, it is unclear which series of events happens first. Regardless, it would be interesting to see Cal travel to Tatooine and cross paths with one of the two surviving Jedi Council members.

Perhaps Cal could have learned about Obi-Wan’s survival through information gathered from the Hidden Path or vice versa. It would be heartbreaking to see Cal meet Obi-Wan and try to recruit him to Tanalorr, as players would already know he would never leave his oath to watch over Luke. An Obi-Wan appearance in Jedi: Survivor would likely be little more than a cameo, but could be a wonderful story moment regardless.

7 Maul

Star Wars Darth Maul

Obi-Wan Kenobi’s nemesis Maul would make a fascinating character for a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor DLC. Fans will know that in 9 BBY, Maul was pulling the strings of the Crimson Dawn, as seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Hidden on his homeworld of Dathomir, Maul would eventually become stranded on Malachor, where he would meet Ezra Bridger in 3 BBY.

However, it is unclear how and when Maul ended up on Malachor in search of the Sith holocron. A great idea for a Jedi: Survivor DLC would be Cal and Merrin returning to Dathomir and encountering Maul. He could either try to manipulate them or be an aggressive antagonist, but it would be tons of fun to watch Cal and Merrin battle Maul.

6 Bail Organa

Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa in Rogue One

Bail Organa might not seem like the most exciting Star Wars character choice for a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor DLC, but he opens up some very interesting possibilities for missions. As seen in The Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi, Senator Organa was already starting to set up what would become his rebel cell. In 9 BBY, after the kidnapping of his daughter and the destruction of the Path bases on Jedha and Jabiim, it would make sense for Organa to investigate the situation.

Having Cal meet with Bail Organa would provide Cal with a different perspective of rebellion other than that of Saw Gerrera. Organa could try to recruit Cal and Merrin or even travel to Tanalorr himself to visit what remains of the Hidden Path there. Organa’s presence in a Jedi: Survivor DLC would open Cal up to a wider resistance network with different kinds of missions than the type he had done with Saw Gerrera.

5 Ahsoka Tano

By 9 BBY, Ahsoka Tano is already acting as Fulcrum for Bail Organa’s intelligence network. As she built the operation up, Ahsoka set about recruiting other people to act in similar roles for individual cells. This provides a perfect opportunity to have Ahsoka appear in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor either directly or as a Fulcrum Easter egg.

No doubt Ahsoka would be fascinated to learn of Tanalorr, but it is doubtful she would remain there as she still does not consider herself a Jedi anymore. This would provide an interesting point of view for Cal, who might not know Ahsoka’s reasons for leaving the Jedi Order. Whatever form their interactions took, it would be great for players to see Ahsoka and Cal fight side-by-side against the Empire in a Jedi: Survivor DLC.

4 Fennec Shand

Fennec Shand was active as a bounty hunter during the events of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. In fact, her profession makes her appearance in any DLC easy to figure out. Cal still has a bounty on his head due to his continued run-ins with Haxion Brood, so it makes sense for Fennec to come after him.

After Cal dispatches all the other bounty hunters, with the assistance of Caij Vanda, it is only logical for the Haxion Brood to turn to one of the best in the galaxy. A Jedi: Survivor DLC could be built around Cal trying to stay one step ahead of Fennec as he figures out how to get rid of the bounty on his head. A DLC could even see Cal and Fennec having to team up to escape the Empire, explaining how she ended up wanted by the ISB.

3 The Bad Batch

Clone Force 99 in The Bad Batch.

It is not known if the Bad Batch are still alive in 9 BBY as season two of The Bad Batch takes place ten years prior. However, if they are still kicking around during Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, having Cal meet them would be a blast. There is no doubt that Cal would get along with Omega, but his interactions with the rest of Clone Force 99 would be strained.

As a survivor of Order 66, Cal would have some pretty strong feelings about working with clones. A Jedi: Survivor DLC could showcase Cal’s growth as he is forced to work alongside men who look just like the ones who betrayed him and his master. If the Bad Batch were to join the Mantis crew on an adventure, Omega and Merrin would have to play a larger role in order to bring the group together.

2 Hera Syndulla And Kanan Jarrus

Hera Syndulla and Kanan Jarrus

As the founding members of the Spectre rebel cell, Hera Syndulla and Kanan Jarrus would be great choices for a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor DLC. Aside from the obvious parallels between Cal and Kanan, it would be great for Cal to meet other rebel fighters. At this point in the Star Wars timeline, Kanan was still hiding his Jedi abilities, so it would be interesting to see if he would reveal them to Cal or not.

It would not be until 5 BBY that Hera and Kanan would meet Ezra Bridger, but it is unknown when Sabine Wren and Garazeb Orrelios joined the crew of the Ghost. It would be huge for that story to be told through a Jedi: Survivor DLC, but perhaps the story could set some of it up. The rest of the DLC could focus on taking the fight to the Empire in a less revenge-filled way than Cal had been doing previously.

1 The Grand Inquisitor

Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels

One of the most interesting Star Wars characters for Cal and the crew to meet in a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor DLC would also be one of the most terrifying. The Grand Inquisitor was first seen in Star Wars Rebels before making his live-action debut in Obi-Wan Kenobi, which takes place the same year as Jedi: Survivor. Given Vader’s Jedi: Survivor appearance and connection to Cal and Cere, it makes sense that the Grand Inquisitor would also be aware of them as well.

If Cal were to come face to face with the Grand Inquisitor, it would not be a fight Cal would win. Aside from the fact that the Grand Inquisitor is known to live until his duel with Kanan Jarrus in 4 BBY, the Grand Inquisitor was highly trained in lightsaber combat and the dark side. His training was so extensive that he had learned to counter all seven lightsaber forms used by Jedi, making him a formidable opponent and more than a match for any Jedi who may cross his path. Having the Grand Inquisitor attempting but ultimately failing to learn about Tanalorr would up the stakes nicely in a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor DLC and even produce material for a sequel.
