How To Get The Dark Link Set In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Players who want to get the Dark Link armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will need to collect numerous resources and explore a decent portion of Hyrule before claiming all three pieces that compose the full outfit. The Dark armor set does not provide any specific base benefits. When all three pieces are equipped, however, players will activate the bonus effect, which grants improved movement speed during the night. The ultimate bonus that players get from the Dark set is its aesthetic.

The Dark set replicates the look of Dark Link, a classic and beloved Zelda boss in the franchise represented as an evil reflection of the hero Link. The antagonist wears the character’s iconic outfit, but everything is painted black. His face is engulfed in shadows, and his eyes are turned into a bright red light. While the Dark armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom does not offer Link any somber powers, it does allow him to stroll around Hyrule looking like one of his main enemies in the series.

How To Farm Poes In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

One of the first steps players will need to do to get the Dark Link armor set is to collect Poes. They are one of the many resources available in the Breath of the Wild sequel and can be used to acquire exclusive items, including the Dark set and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s Depths armor set. However, collecting them involves a prerequisite, so players need to know where to look to obtain and farm Poes.

You will need to gather and then exchange a total of 650 Poes to obtain the full Dark Link armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The only way to get Poes in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is by heading into the Depths of Hyrule and exploring. There are three types of Poes to collect. The regular ones, which are small and gathered in groups, shine blue and have a value of one Poe each. The second type, Large Poe, shines a greener hue, is slightly larger, and is worth 5 Poes. Grand Poes are the last type and have a pink tail, worth 20 Poes. Once players have 650 Poes, they can use them to buy pieces from the Dark set.

First Bargainer Statue Location (Dark Tunic Unlock)

Obtaining the Poes, however, is not enough. To get the Dark Link set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players must unlock each piece, which involves finding five different Bargainer Statues. These statues are spread across Hyrule, both in the Depths and the overworld, and are where players can exchange their Poes for different items. The first Bargainer Statue’s location is quite easy to reach, as it is not only in the overworld but in the middle of Central Hyrule. Its exact location is -0253, 0148, 0020, as demonstrated by Austin John Plays on YouTube.

The first Bargainer Statue in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found inside Lookout Landing’s main building. By heading inside and interacting with the small stone figure, players can choose to offer Poes and immediately buy the Dark Tunic for 150 Poes. This first piece in the Dark Link set is available from the start and requires only the resource rather than any unlocking process. The next two pieces, however, will see the player exploring more.

Second & Third Bargainer Statue Locations (Dark Trousers Unlock)

To unlock Dark Trousers in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players must interact with two extra Bargainer Statues. The second one can be found directly underneath Mt. Lanayru’s Spring of Wisdom. The exact location of the second Bargainer Statue is 3848, -1329, -0858, inside the Wellspring of Wisdom. Next, players can use the Naydra Snowfield Chasm to access the Depths. They will then head east. In the Depths, the statue is located slightly south of the tower’s location on the surface.

As was mentioned by the first statue in Lookout Landing, this statue is significantly larger and will require climbing to reach its main platform. The third Bargainer Statue, necessary to unlock the second piece in Dark Link’s set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is near the Wellspring of Courage, also located in the Depths. Players can reach it to the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and west, into the Hills of Baumer Chasm. From there, players must move southeast to the 0884, -2403, -0393 coordinates. By unlocking this third Bargainer Statue, players also unlock Dark Trousers.

It costs 200 Poes to buy the Dark Trousers from any Bargainer Statue.

Fourth & Fifth Bargainer Statue Locations (Dark Hood Unlock)

To be able to purchase the Dark Hood in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players will have to interact with two more Bargainer Statues, for a total of five different ones. The fourth one is located in the Depths, near the Wellspring of Power. The exact coordinates for this Bargainer Statue are 3710, 2595, -0412. To access it from the surface, players will want to drop from the East Akkala Plains Chasm and glide north.

The fifth and final Bargainer Statue necessary for unlocking the Dark Hood in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found in the Depths’ Plains, east of the Great Abandoned Central Mine. Its exact coordinates are 0459,-0808, -0468. For reference, it is near the Riverside Stable’s location on the surface but in the underground portion. Once players find and interact with the fifth Bargainer Statue, they will be able to acquire the full Dark Link set for 300 Poes.

There are a total of seven Bargainer Statues spread across Hyrule, with six of them located in the Depths. Players can interact with any five of the seven statues to unlock the Dark Link armor set. There are other rewards that players can buy from them, and the one located in the Great Abandoned Central Mine can offer Link a side-quest to complete. Their inventories are shared, so players can talk to any of them to buy the desired items.

Interacting with all seven of the Bargainer Statues grants the player the chance to buy the Tunic of Memories, which resembles the Champion’s Tunic from Breath of the Wild.

The hardest part in the journey to obtain the full Dark Link armor set is navigating the Depths to reach each Bargainer Statue. The area is notoriously dark, and even if the Lightroots are unlocked, the enemies therein are dangerous, so the recommendation is to be prepared for exploration and combat alike. However, getting the Dark Link set will provide a few gameplay advantages for Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players, so it is best if it is collected in the late-game portion.
