The Issue: Reports that veterans have been ousted from hotels upstate to make room for migrants.
I read the article “No room at the inn for US vets” (May 13) and am overcome with great horror, anger and shame.
How dare our useless, corrupt politicians choose illegal immigrants — law-breakers — over the men and women who served my country.
To remove these brave vets from hotels in upstate New York to make room for immigrants is another slap in the face to our veterans.
Our vets served our country and put their lives and families on hold while they performed their civic duties. What have the immigrants contributed?
This country has misplaced priorities, and we need to speak out against this atrocity.

As our veterans are being displaced to accommodate the flood of migrants into New York, the Biden administration claims there is no migrant crisis.
The Democratic-controlled media supports this narrative. As you flip through the news channels, there is only mention of the “crisis of asylum seekers,” as if everyone storming our border is seeking asylum.
No: They are seeking the handouts that this administration is so freely doling out (except to our former service members). The Biden administration could sugarcoat a train wreck. Oh wait, it already did that.

Some 20 homeless veterans were moved to house migrants in Orange County. Then it was revealed that vile insults had been made toward them (“Adding insult to ouster,” May 14).
Veterans should be put first, before migrants. They served their country and deserve to treated with respect, not put out without warning.
I wouldn’t blame the veterans one bit for being upset over this issue. They weren’t allowed to speak with reporters, but I am sure these vets have plenty to say. I am also sure the sad truth will come out.
Don’t give support to those newly arrived, giving them free food, housing, clothes and education, then forget about those who served our country proudly.

I read that a hotel in Orange County made veterans move out so they could make room for the illegal immigrants whom Mayor Adams is busing up there.
For this act alone, Adams should be kicked out of office. He’s disrespecting those who served our country so he can take care of law-breaking undocumented immigrants using our government to get all this free stuff —which most vets can’t seem to.

In his latest display of hypocrisy, Mayor Adams is doing the exact same thing he criticized the governor of Texas for — sending migrants elsewhere on buses.
This time, Adams is sending migrants to Westchester and Orange counties and Staten Island.
These migrants are now pawns in a political game started by the useless hack occupying the White House. New York City is a sanctuary city. These other cities are not. They didn’t ask for this chaos and strain on the taxpayer dollar.

What kind of disgusting government would throw homeless veterans into the streets and replace them with illegal immigrants who have done absolutely nothing for this country?
I know the Democrats have never been pro-military, but this is absolutely a new low — even for them.

Where the hell are the governor and our two senators on the veterans being kicked out of the hotel where they were staying so migrants can move in?
It’s always about the money. The city is likely paying the hotel twice as much as the veterans’ nonprofit can.
That’s progressives for you. They care more about migrants than the vets who served our country.
New York’s governor and senators should be ashamed of themselves. And who’s going to pay for this? Taxpayers, of course.
