The upcoming animated outing, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, has scored some Oscar-winning composers to provide the melodies for the reboot of everyone’s favorite heroes in a half shell. Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross will score Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, with director Jeff Rowe taking to social media to confirm the news.
The involvement of Reznor and Ross was first revealed by pro-skater Tony Hawk during a recent appearance on the Hawk vs Wolf podcast, with Rowe now revealing that it is indeed true and describing the work of the musicians as “Exhilarating, terrifying, heartbreaking, full of sounds I didn’t know existed.”
In a follow-up tweet, Rowe revealed that we have not yet heard anything from the score saying, “nothing they’ve done has been released yet. It’s not them in the teaser trailer, and won’t be them in this week’s trailer.” Oh, and also, we’re getting a new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem this week.
Reznor and Ross have scored an animated outing before, with the pair winning their second Oscar for their wonderful work on Pixar’s 2020 release, Soul. The duo was awarded their first Academy Award for their work on director David Fincher’s The Social Network, and have also provided music for the likes of the HBO limited series Watchmen, as well as teaming up with Fincher for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Mank, and Gone Girl.
