World of Hyatt Journey Across Canada Promotion: Earn 2,000 Points Per Stay

World of Hyatt has just released details of its upcoming “Journey Across Canada” promotion. With the busy summer travel months just around the corner, you could pad your World of Hyatt balance on stays throughout Canada.

Through the promotion, you’ll earn 2,000 World of Hyatt points per stay at participating Canadian hotels, on up to 10 stays with checkout dates between June 1 and September 6, 2023.

To take advantage of the deal, you must register by July 11, 2023.

Register Now for “Journey Across Canada”

World of Hyatt’s Journey Across Canada promotion for Summer 2023 offers a solid return on cash and award stays. You’ll earn 2,000 points per stay, beginning on your first stay, valid on bookings at participating Hyatt properties in Canada.

Importantly, award nights qualify for this promotion, too.

Prior to your first eligible stay, you’ll have to register for the offer, which just requires your World of Hyatt membership number.

You can earn a maximum of 20,000 World of Hyatt points with this promotion, as up to 10 stays are eligible.

Note that you’ll receive bonus points for eligible stays with checkout dates between June 1 and September 6, 2023, and the final date to register for the Journey Across Canada promotion is July 11, 2023.

Stays booked prior to the promotion are eligible, as long as you register in advance and the checkout dates fall within the eligible period.

Earn Points on Award Stays

World of Hyatt redemptions are subject to a category-based chart, with different prices for off-peak, standard, and peak dates.

With award redemptions for as few as 3,500 points per night in a standard room at a Category 1 property, and with 2,000 points per stay earned with this promotion, you can effectively get rooms for a net cost of 1,500 points per night. Under this promotion, there’s no minimum stay requirement, which means that stays of one night and 10 nights both count as a single stay.

However, it’s worth noting that most dates at Canadian Category 1 hotels throughout the promotion period have standard pricing, which means a net cost of 3,000 points per night.

It’s also important to note that if you were to book multiple single-night stays, it’ll be treated as a single booking for this promotion. So, you’d only earn 2,000 points for three one-night stays booked at the same property back-to-back.

There are four Category 1 properties in Canada: Hyatt Place Prince GeorgeHyatt Place Edmonton-West, Hyatt House Winnipeg-South/Outlet Collection, and Hyatt Place Moncton / Downtown. If you have plans to visit any of these cities this summer, be sure to look at the redemption rates.

Otherwise, the full list of properties participating in the promotion is as follows:

  • Andaz Ottawa Byward Market
  • Hyatt Centric Ville-Marie Montréal
  • Hyatt Regency Calgary
  • Hyatt Regency Toronto
  • Hyatt Regency Vancouver
  • The Anndore House
  • The Walper Hotel
  • Park Hyatt Toronto
  • Spirit Ridge
  • Hyatt House Winnipeg-South/Outlet Collection
  • Hyatt Place Calgary Airport
  • Hyatt Place Edmonton-West
  • Hyatt Place Kelowna
  • Hyatt Place Moncton / Downtown
  • Hyatt Place Montréal – Downtown
  • Hyatt Place Ottawa – West
  • Hyatt Place Prince George
  • Hyatt Place Toronto / Brampton
  • Hyatt Place Toronto / Mississauga Centre

Boost Your World of Hyatt Balance

With this promotion, you’ll earn 2,000 points for every stay, up to a total of 20,000 points. These bonus points are in addition to the regular number of points you’ll earn as a World of Hyatt member.

Depending on your status, you’ll earn the following on stays:

  • 5 base points per US dollar spent as a non-elite World of Hyatt member
  • For elite members, there is a multiplier depending on your status:
    • Discoverist members will earn an extra 0.5 points per US dollar spent (10% bonus on eligible purchases)
    • Explorist members will earn an extra 1 point per US dollar spent (20% bonus on eligible purchases)
    • Globalist members will earn an extra 1.5 points per US dollar spent (30% bonus on eligible purchases)
  • Paying with a Hyatt co-branded credit card, such as the World of Hyatt Credit Card or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, will net an additional 4 points per US dollar spent

That works out to up to 10.5 World of Hyatt points per US dollar spent at Hyatt properties for Globalists with a Hyatt co-branded credit card.

If you consider the extra points earned through the Journey Across Canada promotion, there is a good earning potential here, especially at cheaper Canadian Hyatt properties and on award stays.

Of course, obtaining a Hyatt credit card requires some depth in the US credit card game, and Globalist status is mostly reached through organic hotel stays, making it rather difficult to earn.

Enhance Your Stay with Hyatt Privé

If you don’t happen to have status with World of Hyatt, or perhaps you do but you’d like to further elevate your stay, be sure to get in touch with us for a quote.

In Canada, the Park Hyatt Toronto, the Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market, and the Hyatt Regency Calgary participate in Hyatt Privé, a preferred partner program. By booking through a travel advisor, you’ll receive a suite of additional benefits during your stay at no additional cost.

The Hyatt Privé rate is the same as the best available flexible rate, which can be higher than prepaid rates, member rates, corporate rates, or other rates that you may have exclusive access to. However, the benefits offered through the program are excellent, both for members with and without status.

Conclusion

World of Hyatt’s Journey Across Canada promotion is open for registration, and members will earn 2,000 bonus points for every stay at a participating Canadian Hyatt property. The maximum number of points earned from this promotion is 20,000, and earning begins with the first stay.

Register by July 11, 2023 to activate the promotion, which is valid for stays with checkout dates from June 1–September 6, 2023.

Notably, award stays count for this promotion. If you’re able to book a number of nights at less expensive properties, you stand to gain the most; however, anyone with Canadian Hyatt stays this summer should register to boost their balance.
