Located in the northeast corner of Hyrule Field in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, the Sepapa Shrine contains a powerful Light of Blessing which players can claim by completing the Backtrack Trial. Shrines in Tears of the Kingdom often contain complex environmental puzzles which can only be solved using Link’s abilities.
Luckily for players exploring Hyrule, the Backtrack Trial inside the Sepapa Shrine isn’t too challenging. However, Link needs to have learned the Recall and Ultrahand abilities by completing Tears of the Kingdom’s Nachoyah and Ukouh Shrines. These Shrines are Great Sky Island Shrines, which contain trials that Link can complete to learn essential abilities.
Where To Find The Sepapa Shrine In The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
The Sepapa Shrine is located in the Hyrule Field region, east of Hyrule Castle at coordinates 0219, 1082, 0028. Players can find it halfway down a hillside facing Hyrule Castle across the water.
How To Complete The Sepapa Shrine In The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
As mentioned above, the main abilities Link will need to use to complete the Sepapa Shrine’s puzzles are Recall and Ultrahand. On entering the shrine, head up the stairs to the left to find a platform that’s moved just out of Link’s reach. Cast Recall on the platform, so it moves backward and jumps on to reach the second level.
Link will find himself in a bigger area, with a pool of water to the right. As players approach the water, they should spot a wooden raft floating just out of Link’s reach again towards a row of stone braziers in the water.
Grab the unlit torch on the ground by the locked door, cast Recall on the raft, and hop on. As the raft passes the braziers in the water, use them to light the unlit torch in Link’s hand.
If Link has a bow and arrow, players can also use the torches to light a fire arrow, which can be shot at the leaves at the other end of the water. This will ignite them, causing a wooden chest to drop from above.
Cast Recall on the raft and return to the other side, using the torch to light the braziers by the locked door to open them.
These braziers can be lit in other ways; for example, players may have fused Rubies to their weapons so they gain the ability to launch fireballs.
Inside, players will find themselves in a bigger chamber. The gates ahead are locked, so players should head over to the right side of the room, where they’ll find two pits in the floor and a ball they can move using Ultrahand.
Using Ultrahand, drop the ball into the first pit so it glows green, then move and drop the ball into the second pit. This will open the first gate.
After running through the first gate, players should cast Recall on the ball and rewind to place it back into the second pit. This opens the second gate, allowing Link to reach the end of the shrine where he can claim the Light of Blessing.
Lights of Blessing are incredibly useful items in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This makes the Sepapa Shrine an easy early Shrine to complete for players who want to max out Link’s health or stamina.
