Having demanded unprecedented levels of illegal migration, national Democrats are following up with — drum roll, please — unprecedented levels of hypocrisy.
Bet you never saw that coming.
Like Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom — congenitally unable to pass up swing-and-a-miss partisan jabs at his red-state rival Ron DeSantis, no matter how factually incorrect.
After two planes landed a few dozen migrants in Sacramento, Newsom suggested “kidnapping charges” are somehow in the offing for DeSantis, as his Attorney General Rob Bonta wrung his hands about how “immoral and disgusting” it is to move migrants along.
What about all the charities that do that?
Heck, we don’t recall any similar Newsom howls over the not-so-secret flights that brought migrants to New York and other states in the dead of night on Joe Biden’s say-so.
Not to mention Newsom’s fury over a few dozen migrants, with not a single word about the tens of thousands flooding into New York and other cities outside California.
Gosh, wonder why?
Oh, yes: pure politics! Here, a red-state governor is (supposedly) shoving the migrant crisis right into the heart of a blue-state stronghold, so it’s time to let the ol’ empathy siren rip.
Chief White House flack Karine Jean-Pierre also got in on the act, decrying how “dangerous and unacceptable” migrant transports are.
Poor woman has to carry more water for her boss’ failures than the Rio Grande.
Which leaves her thundering about these moves “putting a lot of pressure” on the destination states — as if El Paso (for just one) isn’t facing far worse pressure?
The truth beneath all the disingenuous whining: Unchecked inflows of illegal migrants are “dangerous and unacceptable”; it is “immoral and disgusting” to lure people here then leave them to fend for themselves.
Dems like Newsom admit this — but only raise public hell when the results of their insane policies land on their own doorsteps.
One last bit of chutzpah: Newsom not long ago was running ads declaring Cali a far better place to move to than Florida, yet he insists being ferried to the Golden State is a “harrowing experience.”
What will he choose to smugify about next week?
