The Soryotanog Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom can be found in the Gerudo region of the map. Unfortunately, tracking it down is almost more difficult than completing it due to the sandstorm near Gerudo Town, which obscures Link’s map.
To reach Gerudo Town, where the Soryotanog Shrine is located, Link will need to blindly navigate his way to Gerudo Town without the assistance of his map or any markers. There will be a couple of travelers to warn Link about the sand storm before he enters it, but once he does, he’s on his own.
The Sandstorm will not dissipate until working through the Lightning Temple in Zelda: TOTK and defeating the boss there. Unfortunately, to do this, Link must still reach Gerudo Town. So don’t attempt to look for a way to clear it beforehand.
How To Reach The Saryotanog Shrine in Gerudo Town
Once reaching the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in Zelda: TOTK, Link will continue down the only obvious path to reach the Kara Kara Bazaar, where there will be some merchants selling various goods, as well as a couple of male travelers hoping to reach Gerudo Town and meet the Gerudo women. They will inform Link that they have tried to reach the town multiple times but have gotten lost each time due to the sandstorm that is stirring in the region.
While the storm does not prevent Link from heading to the town, it will cause the Purah Pad map to become fuzzy and remove any previously marked points until he is out of the storm. Therefore, to reach Gerudo Town, Link can either attempt to create a flying device to take him there or begin his blind trek. While crafting a vehicle to carry Link over the storm is a viable option, some players may want to test their luck in the storm so that they can collect some valuable materials along the way.
The main thing to remember when heading to Gerudo Town is that it will be pretty much straight ahead when entering the storm from where the travelers are. So if Link continues straight, he should be able to reach it fairly easily. However, there will be some Gibdos along the way, which will require an elemental attack before they take damage. So be sure to pick up their Gibdo Bone after killing them; it’s a great Fuse Material in Zelda: TOTK, specifically for arrows due to its powerful Fuse power but very low durability.
If Link appears to be lost or players want to verify they’re on the right track, climb any tall obstructions Link may come across. Then, he should be able to see over the storm and verify he is heading in the right direction.
The Saryotanog Shrine Solution & Walkthrough
Once in Gerudo Town, the Shrine should be visible if Link climbs to the top of any part of the town. It will be on a large floating rock above the town that Link can climb up. After heading into the Shrine, Link will be facing the Buried Light Puzzle. This Shrine will introduce Zonai Mirror if Link has not already encountered or used them. After reaching the first main room of the area, Link will notice there are large piles of sand all around him, one of which will have a Fan half buried in it. Use Ultrahand to pry the Fan free from the sand pile on the left.
After freeing the fan, go ahead and hit it to activate it. As with all Shrines, using this item will not drain any battery power from Link. Once it’s activated, lift it using the Ultrahand ability and point it directly at any sand piles to see them cleared away. While two will be empty, the third will contain a chest. Open it to find the key that will open the door to the next room. After reaching the next room, Link will again be met with multiple sand piles, one of which will contain a Zonai Mirror. Ignore this for now; off to the left, there will be a platform Link can ascend through to reach the barred room on the left.
After using the Ascend Ability in Zelda: TOTK to get up through the platform, Link will need to kill the enemy firing arrows at him, which shouldn’t prove too challenging. After the enemy is down, grab the fan off to the right of the room and use it the same way as in the first room. Next, destroy all the sand piles in the room. One will reveal another Zonai Mirror, and another, the one under the platform where the enemy was located, will release a beam of light when completely uncovered.
Once the light is revealed, use the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ability Ultrahand to grab the Zonai Mirror and bring it up to the platform above the light. Once the Zonai Mirror is inside the light beam, Link should notice that it reflects the beam in whatever direction the Zonai Mirror is pointing. Since Link needs the beam in the other room, angle the mirror so that it shines through the bars separating the two rooms. Once it is placed, head back to the platform Link entered the area from and Ascend to return to the other room.
During the Lightning Temple Boss Fight in Zelda: TOTK, Link will have several beams of light he can take advantage of by using the Zonai Mirrors as well, so be sure to stock up on them now that he knows how to use them.
Once back in the other room, Link will need to pry the Zonai Mirror free from the sand pile using Ultrahand. After it is free, use Ultrahand to lift it until it reflects the light shining in from the other room. After it is leveled with the light, move Link or angle the Zonai Mirror until it shines on the large target above the locked door. After holding it for several seconds, it will begin to glow green, and the door will be opened. Link can drop the Zonai Mirror now; the door will remain open, and proceed through to claim the Light of Blessing in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
