Letters to the Editor — June 15, 2023

The Issue: The treatment of President Biden and his family in contrast to the arrest of Donald Trump.

It has become increasingly apparent that if your name is “Biden,” you are above the law and can get away with just about anything (“What about the Bidens?” June 12).

President Biden practically dares you to investigate him. If you didn’t believe former President Donald Trump’s claims about the “swamp” and the deep state, all you have to do is witness what is going on with Biden’s Justice Department and Hunter Biden’s follies, and perhaps you’ll revise your thinking — if you have any common sense.

Those of us who still believe in a just society are exhausted from watching the current farce. When will justice prevail? The mission to get Trump is approached far more zealously than uncovering the corruption of the Bidens and their influence-peddling.

The indictment of Trump is the most egregious example yet of left-wing Democrats and their sequacious partners in crime, the media.

Their collective weaponization of the government’s application of the law is nothing short of a malefic double standard.

They leave no stone unturned in their contrived and deranged pursuit of Trump, while deliberately evading the mountains of evidence that have piled up around Hillary Clinton and the crime syndicate otherwise known as Joe Biden and family.

Both Biden and former Vice President Mike Pence contacted the FBI and the National Archives upon discovering the classified materials in their possession.

Contrast that behavior with the actions meticulously laid out in the indictment of a petulant, nihilistic moron who has admitted to taking documents to which he was not entitled, was the subject of his attorney’s recorded notes stating that he wanted to submarine the investigation by having documents disappear and was tape-recorded saying that he couldn’t declassify materials in his possession — which he was showing to someone without clearance — because he was no longer president. And let’s hope that remains the case.

We keep hearing that Trump’s mishandling of top-secret documents is more serious than Biden’s mishandling of top-secret documents.

What does this mean? If murdering 20 people is worse than murdering one person, should we ignore the murder of one person?

Then we hear about how no one is above the law. Where are the indictments against Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden? Evidence of their illegal activities has long been established. Are they above the law?

And after the thoroughly corrupt and phony Russian collusion fiasco, can we honestly believe the “evidence” the government claims to have against Trump? Certainly not.

The White House and the media continue to gaslight the American public, creating smoke and mirrors in order to deflect from Biden family corruption.

How ironic that many of these charges against Trump are also possible charges against Biden.

Of course, it remains to be seen if justice will prevail in dealing fairly with both Trump and Biden.

With the media’s continued “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” mindset, it is imperative for Americans to seek the truth with the help of the stellar journalists at the The Post. Thanks to these diligent reporters, the truth will prevail.

It’s not “freedom of the press,” it’s a continuing “fiefdom of the press.”

While the activities of an aberrant president and his corrupt and corrupting son are ignored for years on end, open borders and their consequences are sugar-coated and our economy and defense posture fall behind China, the fiefdom trails Trump for hours in a helicopter in an O. J. Simpson redo.

The American dream fades into the autumn of great nations as our country’s citizens wallow in their blind indifference.
