Thrill seekers and adrenaline lovers will get their fix in Kevin Hart’s newest film, Lift. Hart is about to serve a platter that is not just an ensemble of laughter but also an action-packed journey.
Gugu Mbatha-Raw is the leading lady, playing opposite Hart. The actress has enchanted the audience in Loki series as Ravonna Renslayer. The movie also boasts an impressive lineup with Vincent D’Onofrio from Daredevil, Billy Magnussen of No Time To Die, and Úrsula Corberó of Snake Eyes. The supporting cast includes the talented Yun Jee Kim, Viveik Kalra, and Paul Anderson.
Netflix recently unveiled the first-look trailer for Lift, where Hart dons the cloak of a master thief.
Diving into the plot, Lift is an adrenaline-infused rollercoaster. Hart’s character, a master thief, is coaxed into a seemingly impossible heist by none other than the FBI and his ex-girlfriend.
What’s the catch? The heist takes place in the sky aboard a 777-passenger flight traversing from London to Zurich. The mission: to avert a terrorist attack. The movie promises fast-paced escapades on a ticking clock. This one will surely keep viewers at the edge of their seat.
Let’s not forget the maestros behind the camera. F. Gary Gray, whose directorial finesse graced Friday and Men in Black: International, is at the helm. The script is crafted by the skilled pen of Dan Kunka.
Lift is not just a product of art but also a testament of collaboration. The film is produced by Simon Kinberg, known for X-Men: Dark Phoenix, in conjunction with Audrey Chon for Genre Pictures, Matt Reeves and Adam Kassan for 6th & Idaho, and Kevin Hart and Brian Smiley for HartBeat Productions. It’s like a symphony where each note is played by a virtuoso.
What Else is Kevin Hart Working On?
The Kevin Hart cinematic universe doesn’t end here. Hart signed a lucrative deal with Netflix, which means his fans can expect more content.
Producer Hiram Garcia spilled the beans about Jumanji 4 during a chat with Collider. It’s in the pipeline, and Hart’s schedule is packed, but Garcia assures that it’s happening. They have a “big vision” for the movie and are working on the pitch.
“We just were discussing the pitch the other day. We’re bringing it into Sony shortly. But that movie’s going to happen. It’s going to happen after Red One, but that timing actually works out well with all of the actors scheduled anyway. As you can imagine, Kevin [Hart] is super busy doing a million things, just like DJ is. All of the actors are super busy. So the timing is going to work out great, but we have a really great pitch for the movie we’re about to bring into the studio, probably going to get a script written soon. Sometime after Red One, Jumanji’s going to be on deck once it’s ready to go, and we have a really big vision for that movie.”
With Hart’s plate seemingly always full, fans are lucky that there’s always something we can anticipate from the actor.
Lift is set to premier in Netflix in January 2024.
