TheWrap taps ex-Condé Nast exec Edward Menicheschi for top gig: source

Hollywood news site TheWrap will hire former Condé Nast marketing guru Edward Menicheschi as president and head of operations, The Post has learned.

Menicheschi will oversee day-to-day operations alongside CEO and editor-in-chief Sharon Waxman in a move that has yet to be announced, a source told The Post.

The source did not say when Menicheschi would begin in his new role.

Menicheschi would replace current COO Dan Strauss, who was hired in March 2022.

It’s unclear if Strauss has plans to resign or is being axed.

Menicheschi and Waxman did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Strauss was tasked with growing subscriptions, developing new products and seeking licensing and partnership deals as the company rebounded from the pandemic, which shut down Hollywood.

Menicheschi has an extensive resume in media, serving in senior roles at Vogue, GQ and WWD Media Worldwide before working as the chief revenue officer at Vanity Fair and later the president and CMO of media giant Condé Nast.

Most recently, he founded and has served as the principal at New York-based strategic media advisory firm Silver Fox Productions.

TheWrap does not publicly advertise that it’s on the market for a president or COO role.

On the job board on its website, TheWrap only touts open positions for news editors, reporters, spring interns, a marketing manager and a head of the finance department.

TheWrap, which covers the business of entertainment and media, was founded by Waxman in Los Angeles in 2009.
