A Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One stunt video shows off more death-defying work from star Tom Cruise. The upcoming project is the seventh entry in the movie franchise, which is based on the 1966 television series of the same name and debuted with Brian De Palma’s Mission: Impossible in 1996. Dead Reckoning Part One is the first of a two-part cinema event that is meant to conclude Cruise’s tenure in the role of superspy Ethan Hunt.
Today, Paramount Pictures shared a behind-the-scenes stunt video from the movie, two weeks ahead of the official Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One release date on July 12.
“With Tom, there are no limits,” brags director Christopher McQuarrie at the beginning of the video, which showcases the actor speedflying, a sport that involves a perilous parachute drop and high-speed winds. The featurette showcases both the challenges of keeping Cruise alive during the sport and filming it in a way that will be satisfying to audiences.
