Minthara is a ruthless Drow leader who you can surprisingly romance in Baldur’s Gate 3, as long as your character fights within a deadly goblin raid.
Although the Drow leader Minthara is often met as an enemy within Baldur’s Gate 3, you actually have a chance to romance this dangerous woman if your character can go along with her ideas. Unlike many other relationships, Minthara does not accompany your party. This interesting dynamic makes her romance delicate, with more chances to make mistakes.
Minthara becomes interested in your character depending on the amount of Approval she has for you. Approval is earned by making choices that other characters would like, which are usually displayed in dialogue options through conversations. Minthara has aligned herself against the Druid Grove in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, so the first step for her Approval is to take her side in the upcoming conflict.
How to Get Minthara’s Romance Cutscene in Baldur’s Gate 3
A hidden secret to find in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3, Minthara’s romance starts by visiting her in the Shattered Sanctum without provoking a fight from those in the Goblin Camp. Talking to Minthara brings up the Druid Grove, where your character must agree to participate in the goblin raid against the druids. You might have to betray the Tieflings, including Zavlor, to accomplish this dangerous goal.
You can speak with Minthara before the raid on the Druid Grove in Act 1 of the story by avoiding a fight with enemies at the Goblin Camp.
After the raid is successful, your character will have another chance to talk with Minthara again at the Sanctum. Here, make sure to mention how “It’s been a privilege to fight alongside you.” regarding the attack on the Grove. The tadpole inside your character’s head will thrash violently as new power begins to awaken. Choose the option to embrace this change in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Similarly to different romances in Baldur’s Gate 3, the final action is to open your mind to Minthara before attending the goblin celebration at the Grove. Minthara will have already expressed interest in you from your second round of talks, but this is where she practically demands your company. Agree with Minthara and say you are hers to unlock the romance option with the Drow woman.
A special romance cutscene will take place when you select Minthara as the person to take with you to bed later that evening in Baldur’s Gate 3.
