The Issue: The US women’s national soccer team refusing to sing the national anthem at the World Cup.

So the United States women’s national soccer team refused to sing the national anthem and embarrassed the country (“Fox buys into questionable USWNT behavior,” Phil Mushnick, Sports, July 21). Fine: That is the players’ right.

As it is the right of every American to not celebrate their victory, purchase any merchandise or support any game, league or tournament that these ungrateful, non-American players participate in.

They may be good athletes, but they are big losers in the game of life.

John Avelli

The US women’s soccer team is the biggest bunch of whiny, unlikable women in the world.

The Post and others have been putting up a fuss recently about “saving” women’s sports in America, but I have to ask: Is this worth “saving”?

Let transgender athletes have it if they want it. They might actually be grateful.

Many of us soccer fans no longer tune in for the US women’s national team since their “leader,” radical Megan Rapinoe, turned it into a forum of anti-Americanism.

In years past, her teammates had spoken out against her politicizing every public appearance of the USWNT, but now it appears the remaining members are in thrall to the female version of Colin Kaepernick.

All 11 players of the Vietnam national team passionately sang their anthem before the United States vs. Vietnam match on Friday night. In contrast, only five of the 11 US players stood on the field for the anthem.

Another victory for the American left, turning professional sports, all corporate news, American universities, pop culture, the military and now even our national sports teams into advocates for anti-American, self-loathing sentiment.

How much more of this can a nation endure?

Nick McNulty

Windham, NH

It is disgraceful for the team to disrespect us during our national anthem. Just pack up and leave if you feel so strongly.

The only ones allowed on the team should be people who support our country. Everyone else should be banned from representing us on a world stage. Such a shameful show.

The Issue: Mayor Adams’ plan to hire eight decarbonization czars to reach clean-air goals.

Mayor Adams, in a bid to curry favor from the lefty greenies, is preparing to add eight “decarbonization” czars to eight city agency payrolls (“City to hire envirocrats” July 23).

He needs a financial wake-up call. The city is circling the money drain.

The cost of the czars will be $1.62 million. Each czar will be paid $170,000 yearly.

Adams is always crying about the upcoming $4 billion cost of dealing with immigrants. Rightfully so.

But any sensible person would not be wasting taxpayer dollars on eight czars when previously only one person was needed for the job.

Czars belong in Russia, not America.

Financial education is immensely important but also lacking.

Those who preach sustainable energy policies ironically have no concern for sustainable fiscal policy.

The city must analyze whether the addition of eight decarbonization czars, in addition to the director of energy conservation we already have, will yield their worth.

Energy-in must yield energy-out to be sustainable, otherwise you literally have no power. It is the same with money.
