Summary

  • Lee Christmas, played by Jason Statham, is coming back in Expend4bles and sports brass knuckles to take on a group of “dumbbells” in a new clip.
  • Sylvester Stallone has stated that Lee Christmas will have a major role in Expend4bles, which is the first film in the franchise that Stallone didn’t write.
  • Alongside returning stars like Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture, Expend4bles will feature new additions like Andy Garcia, Megan Fox, and 50 Cent.

“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night” for those who don’t know any better than to mess with Jason Statham. Statham’s Expendables character, Lee Christmas, is ready to ring in the holiday season with his brass knuckles, no less, in the latest clip from the upcoming fourth outing, Expend4bles. Check out the new footage below, titled Jumbo Shrimp, which features Christmas preparing to mix it up with close to a dozen “dumbbells.”

It’s only right that Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and Christmas get a little love in the new clip because the two friends have served as the primary bromance within the Expendables team since the first film hit theaters back in 2010. And the fans on social media are ready to see The Stath doing what he does best in the action franchise once again. @muhanguzimoses4483 sounded off in the YouTube video’s comments:

“Jason Statham never looks old. He always looks the same since the first expendable movie.#Big fan. Can’t wait to see this movie on the big screen. Its gonna be lit.”

While @ethanholgate2512 added:

“Put Jason Statham in any action movie — he’ll make it awesome.”

The new Expend4bles clip reveals Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) hanging out when close to a dozen ne’er-do-wells in the bar don’t realize who they’re messing with. As the footage fades to black, metal and bone crack together as the sound resonates courtesy of Christmas’ brass knuckles.

Stallone has gone on record saying that Lee Christmas will make up the majority of the Expend4bles movie. And this is the first film in the franchise that Stallone hasn’t contributed to as a writer. Plus, the sequel is going to be without the services of many of The Expendables franchise’s mainstay action stars. And some fans are a little disappointed about it as @jimramos2613 writes:

“You know what I’m kind of sad is that they don’t have our Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, and especially you didn’t got [get] Terry Crews back. I mean he said he’s not coming back.”

Stallone is also supposed to have a diminished role in the new film, but there are some intriguing additions joining The Expendables’ series roster for the very first time, including Andy Garcia, Megan Fox and 50 Cent.

“A new generation of stars join the world’s top action stars for an adrenaline-fueled adventure in Expend4bles,” the official synopsis for the action sequel reads. “Reuniting as the team of elite mercenaries, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone are joined for the first time by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia. Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give “new blood” a whole new meaning.”

Expend4bles opens in theaters on September 22.
