The pure elegance of the Rolls-Royce Ghost, infused with the enigmatic Black Badge spirit, serves as a perfect canvas for the creative vision of the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective. They have truly embarked on a limitless journey to express the breathtaking beauty of this celestial wonder.
The launch of these highly personalized motor cars coincides with the annular solar eclipse visible in some parts of the Western Hemisphere on October 14. Each edition of the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection has been exclusively reserved for discerning clients across the globe.
The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis showcases a bespoke Starlight Headliner featuring a spellbinding animation that, much like the eclipse that inspires it, evokes a genuine sense of wonder. As the coach doors close and the engine roars to life, the ‘stars’ on the Starlight Headliner dim, initiating a mesmerizing sequence that reenacts the totality of a solar eclipse. A constellation of 940 ‘stars’ forms, representing the radiant corona of light encircling the lunar silhouette. Surrounding it are an additional 192 radiant ‘stars’, faithfully recreating the ethereal spectacle that often graces the daylight sky only during a complete solar eclipse.
The animation remains visible for precisely 7 minutes and 31 seconds, and once the time concludes, the entire night sky constellation is then restored. This exceptional technical feature demanded an entire year of tireless development, during which the Bespoke Collective meticulously produced three prototypes to perfect the design and sequence of the radiant ‘stars’.
The illuminated fascia of the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis is adorned with 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars’, forming a symbolic representation of a total eclipse’s timeline. A dedicated Bespoke designer meticulously adjusted the size and position of each individual ‘star’, creating a truly mesmerizing effect. This delicate and precise process took over 100 hours to complete. As a sublime culmination, a bespoke timepiece featuring a brilliant-cut, 0.5-carat diamond graces the composition, echoing the breathtaking ‘Diamond Ring’ effect.
