Big Brother 25 is over halfway through, but some fans are confused with currently nominated houseguest Mecole Hayes’ gameplay, which has been passive at it’s finest. Big Brother is a game of strategy where a group of houseguests are cut off from the outside world and pushed to evict one of their own week after week until only one person is remaining. The series, which has been on since 2000, has gained notoriety over the years and proven to have some incredibly interesting seasons and competitors. Big Brother 25, a milestone season for the series, is the longest season in BB history, spanning 100 days and bringing back classic twists.
Mecole has made an impression on Big Brother fans, who are confused by her gameplay. Mecole has been passive, leading some like Reddit user u/Ok_Hunnybun to share that, “she doesn’t make decisions in her best interest.” Other users chimed in, like u/BJntheRV who shared that Mecole, “has no interest in playing this game. Idk why she’s even there.” u/ImportanceNo2531 explained Mecole’s position clearly, stating, “It’s almost like she didn’t know BB was a social game. She seems kinda annoyed when anyone…[tries] to talk to her…It’s not that she’s bad at pivoting to a new position; it’s that she REFUSES to try.”
Does Mecole Hayes Not Know How To Play Big Brother?
While some are critiquing Mecole’s gameplay style, others are sure it’s not actually a style at all and feel she likely just doesn’t know how to play the game. Mecole claimed to be a BB superfan coming into the house, and has hidden her career as a political strategist. That seems to be the only strategy she’s had going into the house, which makes fans like u/frostywontons feel as though she, “[doesn’t have] any strategy or game sense. She’s a colossal dud of a player.” Other fans chimed in, like u/cutiepieatscake who pondered, “really makes you wonder if these ppl have seen ANY seasons of big brother.”
While some are confused by Mecole’s passive gameplay, others feel it’s simply her not knowing how to play Big Brother. Mecole was nominated for eviction this week by Head Of Household Cameron Hardin next to her closest ally Felicia Cannon. After both women lost the Power Of Veto competition, Mecole remained on the nomination block and has seemingly given up on trying to save her game. Though she’s approached other houseguests like Cory Wurtenberger and Jag Bains to see if she has their vote, her lack of interest in conversations and the fact that she presents as a closed book have made the appeal of working with Mecole much lower.
Though Mecole is the quieter player, she appears to be more of a competitive threat than Felicia. The houseguests have recognized that not only is Mecole refusing to play the game alongside them, but her abilities in competitions seems more threatening than Felicia’s, so it is likely she’ll be evicted from the BB house over Felicia, who has been the target from the beginning of the week. With Big Brother 25 headed into the jury house phase of the competition, where the remaining evicted houseguests will be sequestered and join a jury of 7 to determine the winner, Mecole’s gameplay may have cost her a seat at the table.
