After over a month of beta testing, Apple has just rolled out its update for tvOS 17.1 and HomePod Software 17.1 to all users.
The update to tvOS 17.1 is the first major one for the operating system since the release of tvOS 17 on September 18.
While the version 17 release introduced a number of changes to the Apple TV operating system, such as Apple Fitness Plus tweaks and a renewed Control Center, tvOS 17.1 doesn’t offer as many additions. Indeed, based on the betas, and on tvOS updates in general, there aren’t usually many feature changes introduced to the platform over time.
What has been seen are some extremely minor Music alterations, including support for a new Favoriting system so that it has feature parity with Music on its other operating systems.
End users can update the Apple TV manually by opening the Settings app then selecting System followed by Software Updates,, and lastly Update Software.
