A self-identified psychopath who switched careers from being a Wall Street accountant earning six figures to working as a professional escort and stripper said she earns $34,000 a week during the holiday season.
Mia Lee, 35, said that her peak season is normally the first two weeks of December, when wealthy men looking for a “professional girlfriend” are willing to fork over as much as $3,000 for just two hours of her time.
“I think it’s a combination of the cold weather and holiday parties that bring out more clients,” Lee told Business Insider.
“And a decent number of them don’t really like spending time with their families, so they’re looking for an escape.”
Much of her income is reportedly generated by private dancing sessions at one of Manhattan’s strip clubs as well as luxurious weekend getaways.
The one-time forensic accountant revealed that she surprises her clients with her knowledge of financial affairs. The 5-foot-2 Lee, a native of China, also builds rapport by expressing her love for luxury items such as high-end cars, expensive scotch and imported cigars.
“Clients often tell me I’m the most interesting woman they’ve ever met,” she told Business Insider.
“I traveled to over 60 countries, speak four languages, and have a slew of ‘tomboy’ hobbies like competitive shooting and racing,” she said.
During the month of December, Lee is on call six days a week — meaning that the strip club can summon her on short notice if a VIP client asks specifically for her services.
She lives just down the block from the club and can be at the high-paying client’s beck-and-call within 15 minutes of the request, she said.
Aside from earning cash as a stripper, Lee is also the creator of her own YouTube channel called “Money Talks with Mia Lee” in which she offers financial advice.
Lee told Business Insider that her psychopathic tendencies enable her to shut off any empathy — which means she can focus on maximizing her time and money-earning hours while enjoying herself.
She said she is able to seamlessly transition from moonlighting as an executive’s girlfriend or being hired for a one-night stand.
Lee told Business Insider that she invests significant sums of money in her appearance — including $10,000 for removal of all of her body hair, $100 every three weeks for eyelash extensions and $3,900 for miraDry, a sweat-eliminating treatment that mitigates the need for constant showering.
