With Below Deck Mediterranean Season 8 having finally come to an end, it only made sense for Captain Sandy Yawn to share her thoughts on the crew, especially Kyle Viljoen. As viewers know, Kyle was responsible for way too much drama during this season.
It might sound silly to say in reality TV circles, but there is such a thing as too much drama. Kyle came in way too strong, way too fast, and way too often. Even Sandy had to get up in his face and explicitly reprimand him for starting a whole bunch of nothing.
But with the season’s end, everyone can take a big sigh of relief. Of course, not long after the finale ended, Captain Sandy would appear on Watch What Happens Live alongside Tumi Mhlongo to share some thoughts on what went down – especially with Kyle.
Would Captain Sandy work with Kyle again?
During her appearance on WWHL, Captain Sandy played a game called “You’re Toast!” wherein she answered questions burned onto animated pieces of bread. When one piece of toast asked, “Which interior team member was most to blame for all of the drama?” Sandy looked at Tumi knowingly. “Well, we all know it’s Kyle,” she said with a shrug.
Tumi agreed, “It was Kyle. And I will say that watching it back, I am so surprised that I actually didn’t see what was going on. Like, I am more disappointed … I didn’t realize how much he was actually stirring the pot.” Sandy added, “I don’t think he can help himself. He’s just, you know, he’s Kyle.”
But that wasn’t the only time Kyle’s name came up. When asked whose attitude got under her skin the most this season, Sandy had no problem saying “Kyle.” As for which crew member she wouldn’t want to work with again, Sandy hesitated, saying, “I don’t want to say Kyle because I love to give everybody a chance. Kyle’s a great person. And he is regretful for sure.”
That might be the kindest thing anyone will say about Kyle after this season.
