MSNBC’s Joy Reid was caught on a hot mic dropping the F-bomb, seemingly against President Joe Biden live on air Monday.
The left-leaning host of “The ReidOut” made the gaffe when she was heard saying: “Starting another f-ing war,” over footage of President Biden giving a speech about the border crisis.
Her remark was presumably about the fallout from a drone strike by Iran-backed militants on a US base in Jordan that killed three American soldiers and resulted in at least 34 other injuries, insiders said.
The president has not yet launched any retaliatory strikes but his administration is in discussions about a military response.
Moments before the hot mic gaffe, Reid was railing against Republican leaders who vote against White House policies, then take credit for the positive results afterwards.
“Case in point – fixing what they say is a crisis at the border with congressional negotiators continuing work on a bipartisan deal to tie border policy changes to funding for Ukraine,” Reid said.
“Over the weekend, President Biden said he’s ready to take action if Congress is serious about solving the border issue,” she added.
She then aired a clip of Biden speaking at Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday, in which he told the crowd he would fix the border today if Congress finally passed the bill.
Reid’s mic was cut shortly after she dropped the F-bomb and she returned on air, commenting on the Biden clip.
The host gave a quick apology at the end of her show for cursing, after she was informed that her remark went live on air.
“Before we go, I just want to apologize very quickly. I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my ‘behind the scenes’ chatter. I deeply, deeply apologize for that,” she said
