Connie Nielsen has confirmed that a sequel to the 2021 action movie hit, Nobody, is still happening, and offers some insight into where the follow-up will find Bob Odenkirk’s Hutch Mansell and his family. In an interview with Screen Rant, Nielsen, who portrays Hutch’s wife Becca in the first movie, heaped praise on her co-star and revealed she cannot wait to return for more.
“Who doesn’t love Bob? Bob is just so cool and fun and sweet, and he has unbelievable energy. I adore him. That guy is just so great. And then, on top of that, you have this family again. I’m a family person and I love depicting the tensions inside of a family; the natural tensions, but also the sweetness that underlies the love that connects all of these people together. This is a great family. It’s a great story that I look forward to returning to, definitely.”
Directed by Ilya Naishuller and written by John Wick’s Derek Kolstad, the first Nobody finds Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk as the seemingly mild-mannered Hutch Mansell. Hutch begins the movie as an underestimated and overlooked dad and husband, taking life’s indignities on the chin and never pushing back. In effect, a nobody.
When two thieves break into his suburban home one night, Hutch declines to defend himself or his family. But really, the incident reawakens something in Hutch, a long-simmering rage, and propels him on a brutal path that will surface dark secrets and lethal skills.
Starring Aleksei Serebryakov, RZA, Michael Ironside, and Christopher Lloyd alongside Nielsen and Odenkirk, Nobody was met with a positive response from both audiences and critics alike, who heaped praise on Odenkirk’s central performance and the action sequences.

While we await further details regarding Nobody 2, returning screenwriter Derek Kolstad has previously teased the opening sequence. The first movie ends with Hutch receiving a phone call that teases more trouble ahead, and while we don’t know if Nobody 2 will pick up directly after that or not, Kolstad was “chuckling and cackling” when writing the sequel’s first scene.
“Remember that the first scene in the movie? That is the first thing I ever pitched Bob, in the meeting, because I had the dream the night before,” he revealed about the first movie’s opening scene. “And I told Sonia, my wife, before the meeting, she said you gotta open with that. I pitched that and Bob’s like… ‘you’re f-ing high, right?’ And so, on the second one, I have the opening scene. And we’re all just chuckling and cackling when you see this thing because it’s in line with that. And I always want to begin that way.”
