Fans will not have to travel to Arrakis for their own sandworm keepsake because AMC Theatres will offer collectible Dune: Part Two popcorn buckets beginning on Thursday, February 29. The largest theater chain in the entire world made the announcement in a nine-second video posted on social media. However, the popcorn tub’s design is causing a bit of controversy thanks to its unique sandworm-esque appearance. Check out the AMC announcement (per TikTok) below:
While the design of the AMC sandworm topper will obviously make it difficult for moviegoers to get their popcorn, since they’ll have to reach through the creature’s maw to enjoy their buttery snack, there are those online who are questioning what the popcorn topper resembles. Remember Seth Rogen’s character talking about the “fleshlight” from Zack and Miri Make a Porno? Well, there are definitely some people online who see a sex toy instead of a popcorn tub. @andrew12la posted on X, formerly Twitter (below):

Popcorn Topper or Adult Toy?
“Lucy, you got some ‘splainin’ to do!” Okay, AMC Theatres clearly would never purposely design their science fiction-inspired Dune: Part Two sandworm popcorn topper to resemble a sex toy, right? Nevertheless, many people on social media are having a field day at the expense of the world’s largest theater chain. @ohheyitschase posted a hilarious reaction video on X, formerly Twitter (below):
