The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 has been rough for almost everyone involved. While there are many factors to fans’ frustrations, Kyle Richards is often the source of the grievances. On the other hand, Sutton Stracke has made herself a favorite, almost unexpectedly.
Considering the way Kyle’s been treating Sutton on Season 13, it’s no mystery as to why fans have generally been rooting for Sutton while Kyle’s been falling out of favor. There was the iconic “Name ‘em” moment in which Kyle came off as obstinate without reason.
Then, more concerning was the way Kyle and Dorit Kemsley ganged up on Sutton to imply she had both an eating disorder and a drinking problem. It’s hard to believe the RHOBH stars used to be friends. As it turns out, Sutton’s been reflecting on that.
Sutton found empathy for Kyle and Dorit
On January 23, Sutton spoke to Us Weekly about her strained relationship with Kyle. “I miss her,” she admitted. “I miss our friendship, and hopefully we’re going to get into a good space again, but we’ll see.” It’s hard to say whether Sutton’s optimism should be answered with praise or skepticism.
Sutton did, however, admit that watching Season 13 made her “feel a little bit better,” especially in watching the progression of Kyle’s friendship with Dorit. “It’s not just me,” Sutton explained. “You take things personally and sometimes it’s never really about you, it’s about the other person. So I’ve had to reflect on that.”
Assuming Sutton was telling the full truth here, her perspective is extremely mature. Kyle has gone through a great deal on and before Season 13 and Sutton’s empathy in recognizing that is admirable. Perhaps when Kyle gets to a better place personally, she can reassess her friendships.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
