In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, professional wrestler and Terrifier 3 star Chris Jericho has revealed details of the upcoming horror sequel…and how long he will last against Art the Clown this time around. We spoke to Jericho about the horror threequel and his new documentary The Death Tour, which premiered at Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. We asked if he’s seen a script for Terrifier 3 yet, and here’s what he had to say…
“I have seen the script. I have already kind of done the [prep and prosthetics], the filming that they do when they’re taking molds of your face and all this sort of thing. So, suffice to say I don’t have a good, well, I don’t last very long. But it’s gonna be great. If you love Terrifier 2, you’re gonna love Terrifier 3 because it’s even better, it ups the ante even more.”
Released back in 2016, the first Terrifier follows partygoer Tara Heyes (Jenna Kanell) and her sister Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi) as they attempt to evade a mysterious serial killer (David Howard Thornton) who targets them on Halloween night.
The sequel, Terrifier 2, unleashes all manner of new mythology, and begins with the resurrection of Art the Clown and his pursuit of teenage Sienna Shaw (LaVera) and her younger brother Jonathan (Fullam) on Halloween night.
Jericho joined the franchise in the second movie as Burke, an attendant in a psychiatric hospital, and it sounds like he will not make it to the ending of Terrifier 3. And no doubt to the delight of fans, his description of prep, prosthetics, and molds suggests his demise will be a gruesome one.
Terrifier 3’s Damien Leone and Lauren LaVera Reveal Filming Start Date and More Sequel Details
The Terrifier franchise continues to expand with Terrifier 3, and new details tease an early 2024 production start date.
Terrifier 3 Is Due to Be Unleashed in October
In the third installment of Damien Leone’s breakout horror film, Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve. Written and directed by Damien Leone, the filmmaker has teased a continuation of the supernatural and the shocking end of Terrifier 2.
“There’s still going to be plenty of supernatural things, it’s inevitable in Part 3. Like I said, I’m not ignoring the groundwork that was laid, but there’s an artistic way to approach it where it’s just not so in your face. Some things just are going to be in your face, but you’ll understand when you see it, a lot of it’s grounded. But yeah, I’m excited, you’re gonna see, and it’s sickening and hysterical how it picks up and how Art gets out of that situation, if I could say that. Maybe this is a bit of a spoiler, but to see how the Victoria character aids Art the Clown in that journey is sort of just as interesting.”
The Death Tour, meanwhile, is a feature documentary following professional wrestlers on “the hardest tour in indie wrestling.” For weeks, these wrestlers travel across frozen lakes to put on shows for Canada’s most remote Indigenous communities. Sleeping on floors and eating canned food, this trip will force each wrestler to draw from their checkered pasts if they dare dream of a future in wrestling.
From Bloody Disgusting and SCREAMBOX, Terrifier 3 will hit theaters nationwide on October 25, 2024.
