World of Hyatt and Etihad Guest have jointly launched a new promotion, wherein Hyatt members earn 1,000 Etihad miles per stay this winter.
While this isn’t the most lucrative promotion, it’s worth looking into and signing up for, since you’ll still earn World of Hyatt points as per usual, plus the bonus Etihad miles.
World of Hyatt and Etihad Promotion: Earn 1,000 Miles Per Stay
World of Hyatt and Etihad Guest are offering Hyatt members the opportunity to earn 1,000 Etihad miles per hotel stay this winter with a new promotion.
To qualify for this promotion, World of Hyatt members must register through the dedicated landing page before February 29, 2024, and then earn miles on stays until March 30, 2024.Â
Each qualifying stay earns 1,000 Etihad miles, regardless of the number of nights stayed. The miles come in addition to the Hyatt Base Points earned, so there’s nothing you need to sacrifice to earn more miles with this promotion.
Stays qualify if they’re booked on an eligible rate, including Hyatt Privé, or redeemed using Free Night Awards. The check-out date must fall on or before March 30, 2024 in order to earn 1,000 bonus Etihad miles.
Furthermore, as with similar promotions, a stay is defined as consecutive nights in a property, regardless if you check-in and check-out on separate bookings.
It’s worth noting that Hyatt properties allow guests to choose between earning Hyatt Base Points or accruing airline miles.
During the promotion, if you choose to earn Hyatt points, you’ll earn them per usual, plus the 1,000 bonus Etihad miles. Conversely, if you choose to earn Etihad miles with your stay, you’ll earn the usual, flat-rate 500 miles per stay, plus the bonus 1,000 miles on top.
The promotion’s terms state that miles will be deposited six–eight weeks after check-out, which means that there might be a delay in them arriving in your account.
Earn Free Etihad Miles with Every Hyatt Stay
While free miles are always a nice bonus, keep in mind that Etihad Guest underwent a significant global devaluation in March 2023.
The devaluation caused the program’s sweet spots to disappear, especially with partner airlines, such as Royal Air Maroc and American Airlines.
Award rates have since become uncompetitive vis-Ã -vis other loyalty programs, such as Aeroplan, Air France KLM Flying Blue, and American Airlines AAdvantage, which all allow redemptions for Etihad flights.
Still, with Etihad Guest, you’ll find better award availability for First Class and business class seats on its own planes, than you will with other programs.
While the bonus 1,000 miles aren’t much, you might find this promotion useful as a top-up to your Etihad Guest balance. And since you don’t have to give anything up to earn the bonus miles, you can treat this promotion as low-hanging fruit to enjoy on Hyatt stays this winter.
Likewise, earning Etihad miles on Hyatt stays serves as a qualifying activity that prevents your miles from expiring, since Etihad miles expire after 18 months of inactivity.
Keep in mind that American Express Membership Rewards also transfer to Etihad Guest at a 1:0.75 ratio. Therefore, if you earn some miles with this promotion and then need to add a few more for a redemption, you won’t have to look too far to make use of your miles.
Conclusion
World of Hyatt and Etihad Guest have jointly launched a promotion, wherein Hyatt members earn 1,000 Etihad miles per hotel stay this winter.
To qualify for this promotion, you must register through the dedicated landing page by February 29, 2024.
Then, for each stay completed until March 30, 2024, you’ll earn 1,000 Etihad miles, on top of your usual Hyatt points earning.
While 1,000 miles isn’t much in light of Etihad Guest’s devaluation last year, the miles you’ll earn can be used to top up your balance for an Etihad flight, and/or keep your miles from expiring, so there’s absolutely no harm in registering.
