The 2010s saw black comedies move away from the sitcom format and get a bit experimental, as seen in shows such as Atlanta, Insecure, and even BET’s The Game. We also see how Tyler Perry had the comedy scene on lock during the early half of the decade, as he has two shows that appear in our list. There are a couple of animated shows as well that delve into the black sitcom formula.
