Batman: The Animated Series icons Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill will share the screen for one final time as Batman and The Joker, respectively, in the upcoming animated DC outing Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3. Per a report by IGN, who have revealed the new cast list for the sequel, Conroy will posthumously voice The Dark Knight one last time alongside Hamill, who will voice The Clown Prince of Crime.

Thus, the final chapter in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths will also be the final time that audiences will hear Kevin Conroy’s iconic voice emanate from underneath Batman’s cowl. The actor, who to many is the quintessential voice of the DC character, has played Batman for many years since debuting in Batman: The Animated Series way back in 1992.
The news that Conroy will return alongside Mark Hamill in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3 is sure to be hugely exciting, and emotional, for fans of the actor, who many thought had played Batman for the last time in the recent superhero game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Mark Hamill Has Now Retired From the Joker Role Following Kevin Conroy’s Passing
Kevin Conroy sadly passed away on November 10, 2022, at the age of 66 following a battle with cancer. He shared the screen with Hamill’s Joker many times over the years, with the Star Wars actor saying that he would retire from the role following the passing of his beloved co-star
“They would call and say, ‘They want you to do the Joker,’ and my only question was, ‘Is Kevin Batman?’ If they said yes, I would say, ‘I’m in.’ We were like partners. We were like Laurel and Hardy. Without Kevin there, there doesn’t seem to be a Batman for me.”
Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part 3 will follow on from Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two, which has been called “the beginning of the end to the Tomorrowverse story arc,” and sees the Anti-Monitor released into the DC Multiverse destroying the different Earths that compose it.
