As Bravo fans know Summer House premieres tonight and viewers will start seeing the beginning of the end for Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard in Season 8. While the former couple won’t appear in the first episode, sparks will fly shortly.
The trailer was very telling in that the writing was on the wall for Carl and Lindsay, but her mouth might have been the final nail in the coffin. Before the official demise of the relationship, Linds and Carl had a blowout fight and Lindsay went low. Allegedly. Now he responds to her out-of-pocket comment and E! News has the scoop.
Celebrating three years sober!
Carl has been on a full journey and some of it has been caught on camera. From being addicted to drugs and dealing with family issues to hitting rock bottom and changing his life.
Once someone is committed to ridding themselves of substance abuse, they will forever be in recovery and what you DON’T want to do is use it against them in a petty fight. The Summer House Season 8 trailer found Carl and Lindsay mid-argument where he yells, “You accused me of doing drugs!”
Viewers don’t know what led to that disruption yet, but Carl wants everyone to know he’s still on the wagon. “I will say I just celebrated three years sobriety.” Carl added, “Alcohol and cocaine were what brought me to my knees and I’m really proud that, through one day at a time and a lot of work and great support, I’m three years removed from those substances. That’s what was killing me and ruining my life. I’m really proud of where I’m at.”
So Lindsay going with the most hurtful thing she could say during a dispute did impact Carl’s decision to ditch her. “That was something that had gone on before in the relationship. Which is very unfortunate when you’re committing to a life of sobriety and wanting to live with purpose. I think people will understand how difficult that could be.” Fair. We’ve all seen Lindsay go down to Petty Town and it seems like she might have gone too far.
Carl also shared Lindsay’s hurtful accusations weren’t the only thing swaying his decision to end things. “There were core things that after we were engaged had been going. We started couples therapy in November of 2022. I wanted to try and strengthen and improve our communication, but we also had clear attachment differences, we have different traumas. It was important to me to really work on that.”
With these new revelations, it allows fans to take a look from Carl’s POV. “I do pray that there be some clarity. I’ve had a lot of pent-up anxiety and anticipation once the trailer came out. I did feel like it was like a Band-Aid being ripped off. I’m just slowly moving forward and, at the end of the day, I know the reality I lived in last summer. I think people are gonna watch and hopefully understand,” he explained.
“It’s going to be hard obviously. I’m probably going to see things that I’m not proud [of]. But, also I do really believe we are going to be happier and healthier in different directions,” Carl noted.
Watch it all pop off when Season 8 of Summer House premieres TONIGHT, Thursday, February 22 at 9 PM/ET on Bravo.
