Europe’s tiny country that’s a fantastic destination for British expats | Travel News | Travel

Spain is often a popular choice for Britons looking to move overseas but it might not be the best choice for every expat.

A recent study from the expert team at ECA found that Luxembourg was one of Europe’s top destinations.

The tiny country came in 11th place in the ranking which looked at key factors such as pollution, crime rate and housing.

Luxembourg is one of the world’s smallest countries and it’s landlocked between Belgium, France and Germany with residents able to reach all three countries easily.

Although Luxembourg city has a choice of restaurants and bars, the country is predominantly rural.

‌While Luxembourg city is extremely walkable, expats won’t even need to worry about using a car to explore the rest of the country.

Luxembourg has free public transport for residents and tourists so expats can hop off and on buses without paying a penny.

Unfortunately, the small country is one of the most expensive places to live in Europe and expats will need to prepare for high prices.

Despite this, expats often enjoy high salaries in Luxembourg which can help to soften the blow.

The country’s top attraction is the beautiful Vianden Castle while it also has some fantastic vineyards.

Expats will be ideally positioned to explore the rest of Europe with France and Germany just a short train or car trip away.
