DC has given cosplayers a new challenge by giving Harley Quinn, one of DC’s most popular characters, a killer new barbarian design. It’s extremely common to see cosplayers using Harley’s various designs over the years at conventions. While everyone knows Harley’s original jester costume, now cosplayers might be able to try Harley Quinn the Barbarian.
Harley Quinn is no stranger to ending up in bizarre situations, and the story “Harley the Barbarian” by Alexis Quasarano, Steve Beach, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou from Harley Quinn #36 reveals what it would be like if Harley Quinn was in the world of Conan the Barbarian. In this strange dream, Harley is tasked with retrieving Poison Ivy for an evil wizard, but she ultimately decides to side with Ivy against the wizard.
While this look isn’t exactly usual for Harley’s wardrobe, it still gives cosplayers a brand-new outfit to cosplay that is unlike any other look Harley has had before. It also perfectly fits her personality, as Harley is rather known for smashing things and being overall chaotic.
Birds of Prey’s Huntress Just Got a Mad Max Redesign That’s a Gift to Cosplayers

Harley Quinn Shows Off Her Killer New Barbarian Look
Variant Cover by Steve Beach
DC has tons of popular and iconic female characters in their roster, but Harley Quinn is one of the most popular characters they have across the entire DC Universe. This is in part due to her explosive debut in the beloved ’90s show, Batman: The Animated Series, where she first appeared as the Joker’s girlfriend. This attachment to Batman’s greatest villain made Harley an instant stand-out character, and she eventually grew too big for the Joker and was given her own series, which has attracted fans ever since.
Because of Harley Quinn’s initial popularity, she’s an extremely common cosplay at conventions. This popularity has only grown with her introduction to DC’s live-action movies, which have all given Harley different designs that have been boons to cosplayers. Now, DC has given cosplayers another major option with this new barbarian version of Harley Quinn. While Harley has had countless costumes, they often revolve around a jester design. This barbarian outfit is a truly unique look for Harley and therefore a unique challenge for any cosplayer.
Harley Quinn’s Barbarian Outfit Is Stand-Out Among Constantine and Huntress
As a rule of thumb, the more popular a character is, the more unique their outfit. Batman has had tons of different Batsuits over the decades, after all. While Harley has gotten a number of different outfits as well, hers haven’t been as “out there” as Batman’s, as Harley Quinn has only recently begun exploring the multiverse. This has limited Harley to her general theme without getting really creative. But this new Barbarian Harley Quinn, which is part of an ongoing series of “in-continuity dreams,” solves this problem and gives cosplayers a brand-new outfit to try on.
