Love Is Blind Season 6’s Matthew Accuses Netflix Of Smearing His Character After Showing Major Red Flags

Summary

  • Matthew accuses Netflix of defaming his character on Love Is Blind due to his problematic behavior during the pod phase.
  • Matthew attributes his difficulty connecting with women to his alcohol-free lifestyle, which was not disclosed on the show.
  • Some fans compare Matthew to another Love Is Blind contestant, Uche, noting similarities in their poor social and communication skills.

Love Is Blind season 6’s Matthew Duliba accused Netflix of defaming his character after showing his somewhat problematic behavior during the pod phase of the series. In the early episodes of the season, Matthew was connecting with several women in the pods but made it clear that communication skills weren’t his best asset. In his first few dates, Matthew even had a list of questions to ask the other participants but didn’t give them the opportunity to reciprocate. Netflix, whose social accounts typically poke fun at Love Is Blind contestant behavior, pointed out his flaws in their typical light tone.

Matthew commented on a post of his behavior by Love Is Blind that was captioned, “oh no..that’s not..that’s not how conversation works!!” with a rebuttal. “Key element of my story that was never disclosed is that I live an alcohol free lifestyle and did the experiment sober,” Matthew shared.

Matthew continued on in his post, sharing, “[being alcohol free] was a key factor in why I had so much difficulty connecting with women in the beginning. There was also many misrepresentations and falsehoods created in my opinion to smear my character. I look forward to telling my side of the story with the full truth at the appropriate time.”

Love Is Blind Fans Compare Matthew To Uche

While Matthew’s behavior is difficult to watch, men having poor social and communication skills hasn’t exactly been hard to come by on Love Is Blind. Throughout Love Is Blind season 5, fans got to know Uche Okorhoa, who initially had a connection with Aaliyah Cosby early on in the experiment. Some fans, like u/Happy_Mirror1985, felt they were seeing Uche all over again watching Matthew. “It’s giving Uche…[he] posted a bunch of things on insta saying he can’t wait for his side to come out after being really awful, the fan commented, with others agreeing that the comparison was spot on.

While Matthew wasn’t happy with the way he was portrayed on Love Is Blind season 6’s first batch of episodes, his story was an interesting one to watch. After pursuing Amber Desiree “A.D.” Smith throughout the first several episodes of the season, it came out that Matthew had actually been feeding the same lines to other women in the pods. A.D. confronted Matthew, but it was clear that he wasn’t going to take responsibility for his actions. After Amber, the other woman Matthew was two-timing, left Love Is Blind, Matthew also felt he was unable to continue in the experiment.

With Matthew having decided to leave Love Is Blind after he was caught saying the same thing to more than one woman, the experiment changed entirely for A.D. as she moved on with someone else. Despite his time on Love Is Blind having been difficult, Matthew now feels that his portrayal on the series has been accurate. Though Matthew may have been edited to look somewhat more villainous than he was in actuality, his Love Is Blind experience can speak for itself on screen.
