Oppenheimer Finally Hits Streaming on February 16, Find Out Where to Watch

Christopher Nolan’s magnum opus, Oppenheimer, is finally coming to streaming on February 16, 2024, and viewers can tune in to Peacock to see what all the fuss is about. Nominated for 13 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Directing, Oppenheimer hit theaters in July 2023 from Universal Pictures, and became the third highest-grossing film of the year, raking in almost $1 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. With the film yet to debut in Japan, it could very well reach that milestone later in 2024.

Oppenheimer follows the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer (Best Actor nominee Cillian Murphy) as he leads the Manhattan Project in a pulse-pounding race against the Nazis to develop the first atomic bomb. Along the way, he struggles with his own moral compass and relationships as he must risk destroying the world in order to save it. Murphy is joined by fellow Oscar nominees Robert Downey Jr. (Best Supporting Actor), who plays Lewis Strauss, and Emily Blunt (Best Supporting Actress), who stars as Oppenheimer’s wife, Katherine.

Oppenheimer joins a slew of other notable films in Peacock’s already extensive movie library, including The Holdovers, which took home two Golden Globe Awards and is nominated for five Academy Awards, Five Nights At Freddy’s, which went on to become the highest-grossing horror film of 2023, and The Exorcist: Believer. In addition to being nominated for Best Picture, Best Director (Christopher Nolan), and Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr., and Emily Blunt being nominated for Best Actor, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress respectively, Oppenheimer is also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, Best Sound, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Costume Design, and Best Film Editing.

Oppenheimer’s Peacock Release Features a Ton of Special Features

To celebrate the release of Oppenheimer on February 16, 2024, Peacock will also be curating an ‘Impact the World’ celebration which will feature six Christopher Nolan-directed films, including Inception, Memento, and The Dark Knight, 13 movies featuring Cillian Murphy, and more, which will all drop at the same time as Oppenheimer.
