NCIS Season 21 Trailer Seemingly Teases Ducky Tribute Episode Following David McCallum’s Death

A new trailer for NCIS season 21 seemingly teases a Ducky tribute episode following David McCallum’s death in 2023, indicating what to expect next.

The episode will be co-written by NCIS actor Brian Dietzen. He’s played Ducky’s protege, Dr. Jimmy Palmer, since the drama’s first season. Dietzen will pen the script alongside executive producer Scott Williams. In terms of whether any past NCIS actors might make a cameo in the Ducky tribute episode, co-showrunners Steven D. Binder and David North haven’t mentioned any specifics but did say that there would be a very special and touching moment for audiences.

A three-time Emmy nominee for his performance as Hamilton Cade in the 1960s Man From U.N.C.L.E television series, McCallum is a huge part of the NCIS legacy. It’s safe to say that the actor’s passing will be felt on the show for more than just one episode. But as it prepares to begin its 21st season, the hit franchise will take a moment to say goodbye to one of its cornerstones.
