News of Porsha Williams‘ divorce from Simon Guobadia shocked the Bravoverse, but cameras haven’t started rolling to capture the fallout just yet.
According to a source who spoke with RadarOnline, Porsha’s breakup from Simon won’t be shown on camera since they have several months before filming begins. However, their split will be a significant part of the story.
“Porsha is a star on her own without Simon. He was not important to Bravo,” the source shared before adding that the show’s supporters adores Porsha.
What’s next for Porsha on RHOA 16?
All of the chatter surrounding Porsha’s divorce came as a total surprise as the multihyphenate announced her return as Porsha Williams Guobadia just days before. “Who said that? Porsha Williams coming back to The Real Housewives of Atlanta? That’s false, but Porsha Guobadia is in the building. See ya,” she said in a fun video posted online.
Executive producer and host Andy Cohen reacted to the news of Porsha’s split, saying regardless of her marital status, they would’ve brought the star back to make her grand return.
“We would take Porsha married, single, picking up the pieces of her life, on high, on low, however she wants, you know, however she’s gonna be,” the Watch What Happens Live host explained. “But we didn’t know, and this is really a big right turn from the story that I think all of us thought we would be telling.”
Who is in, and who is out?
Porsha’s return isn’t the only thing that’s gotten people talking. Long-standing Housewife Kandi Burruss announced her departure from the franchise after 14 consecutive years earlier in the new year.
“I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time, I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things,” she revealed.
Meanwhile, the show’s fashion maven, Marlo Hampton, will also leave the series after appearing intermittently since Season 4, and as a full-time Housewife in Seasons 14-15.
“My contract with Real Housewives of Atlanta ended when Season 15 wrapped. This break from RHOA is a fresh start, allowing me the space to participate in new creative entertainment projects focused on my future, and not reliving my past,” she said.
