  • The Conners

The Conners season 6, episode 3 teases the culmination of Jackie and Bev’s long-running storyline. Jackie and Roseanne’s relationship with their mother is well-documented, starting from the original show to the spinoff sequel. After Roseanne’s death due to an opioid overdose, Jackie is left to deal with her often difficult mom. To make things worse, Bev is revealed to be suffering from dementia — a plot that The Conners has been slowly developing for quite a while now.

Now, The Conners season 6 may finally be setting up the resolution to Bev and Jackie’s narrative. Episode 3 titled “Moms and Rats” is confirmed to tackle the situation per ABC’s (via SpoilerTV) official synopsis. Read it below:

Bev experiences moments of clarity and reflection and asks Jackie to spend the day together in Chicago; Darlene finds a rat in her home but refuses to let Ben kill it.

Estelle Parsons is turning 97 years old in 2024.

Will Bev Die In The Conners Season 6?

Bev has just made her The Conners season 6 debut in episode 2 after Jackie found out about suspicious activities in her mother’s credit cards. Interestingly, the outing showed Bev alert, with no signs of her disease plaguing her. She was sharp, witty, and even earnest when she gave Dan the credit that he had long deserved for taking care of Roseanne. That being said, the season 3 synopsis confirms that it will all change, Bev gets moments of confusion and clarity in her next outing with Jackie.

Jackie’s upcoming arc with her mother sounds like the beginning of the end for Bev. The shortened The Conners season 6 leaves the series limited time to tackle her ongoing storyline. While a seventh season for the Roseanne spinoff sequel is sounding more likely, ABC and the writers may be keen on wrapping up this arc, considering Parsons’ age — not that she hasn’t been brilliant every time she appears in the sitcom. If Bev meets her end in The Conners season 6, next year can be devoted to Jackie dealing with the loss and moving forward from it.

The Conners season 6, episode 2 offers an explanation about why Dan cannot solve the biggest issue that has been plaguing him since Roseanne.

Ultimately, the most important thing is that The Conners properly tackle out Jackie and Bev’s relationship before the latter meets her end. Despite the revelation that her mother secretly protected her and Roseanne from her father, it doesn’t erase years of resentment from how Jackie was mostly treated by Bev. It would be unfair to force Jackie to just get over her experiences, but she must be able to say anything else that she wants to tell her mom before it’s too late.
