We all knew it was only a matter of time. Sadly, this was not a match made in Heaven.
Vanderpump Rules alums Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are living in separate homes, despite the former SUR bartender’s protests to the contrary. Britt apparently decided to move out of her and Jax’s Valley Village home about a month ago amid ongoing marital arguments.
Brittany announced the couple’s split on their shared podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax & Brittany, on Thursday, February 29. Britt’s The Valley co-star and good friend Michelle Lally was filling in for Jax, who was MIA. The Kentucky native reflected on her podcast, “Marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year.”
Britt moves out
Brittany moved into a short-term rental about a month ago, but now she’s rented a home not far from her Valley Village house. She was filmed loading up her belongings to take to the new home on Thursday. Hers and Jax’s nearly three-year-old son Cruz Cauchi is with her.
Brittany said on her podcast Thursday that the couple is “taking time apart.”
Meanwhile, a Page Six source said, “They’re not on a path to reconciliation.”
TMZ sources are saying that Jax and Brittany have been fighting a lot over the past year (that’s a new thing?), which resulted in the decision to separate. They just need time and space away from each other at the moment.
When approached by paparazzi following the news of their split, Jax denied their separation. “We’re together,” he said. “We’re living in our home right now. She was in a house for a while, but yeah, she’s back now.”
Brittany actually was back on Thursday, but only to retrieve her and their son’s things to take to her new home.
“She was back there yesterday to pack up her stuff to go to another rental,” the Page Six source says. “Maybe that’s why he said, ‘Oh, she’s back home now,’ because there was a day in between her rentals.”
“Jax and I are taking time apart,” the former Hooters waitress said. “I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
Is this the end?
The couple’s relationship, which included a cheating scandal with former co-star Faith Stowers, was well documented on Pump Rules. They were married in an elaborate televised wedding on June 29, 2019, following four years of dating.
TMZ sources say the separation was a long time brewing. Over the past year or so, the couple has fought incessantly over many different issues. There’s been no accusation of infidelity on either side.
As for a possible divorce, Jax hotly denied that was even on the table. Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, The Valley premieres March 19 at 9/8c on Bravo.
