Pursuing a side quest in Junon will allow you to get the Mindflayer Crown in FF7 Rebirth from a powerful boss and craft a unique item for your party.
The Mindflayer boss in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth can drop their Crown when defeated, giving you a powerful item to use in a crafting recipe for a unique gear piece. Once your party reaches Junon, you can pursue one of Chadley’s World Intel side quests to get this material. However, the Mindflayer is not an easy opponent to face in battle unless you have a strong team at your side.
You need to explore Junon and finish four Lifespring activities marked as World Intel spots on your map to unlock the Mindflayer spawn fight. While the order in which you approach these Lifesprings doesn’t matter, you must complete them all to make the hidden boss show up. Chadley offers your party the “Classified Intel: The Whisperer in the Darkness” side quest after you interact with each Lifespring.
If you are having trouble traveling across Junon to find Lifesprings, remember to ride a

Changing One FF7 Rebirth Setting Makes Combat So Much Easier
There are more ways to tweak FF7 Rebirth’s combat experience than just changing the difficulty, and some might even make it more fun to play.
How To Use The Mindflayer Crown in FF7 Rebirth
Once you take down the Mindflayer spawn boss, you will get the Mindflayer Crown to craft the Psychic’s Charm gear item. The recipe for this Charm calls for other items as well, including an Emerald and several Tourmaline ingredients. You can equip this gear piece to any playable character in FF7 Rebirth that you assign to your party or recruit from events in the main story.
While the Psychic Charm can be sold for 250 Gil, the true strength of this item comes from the buff it applies to whoever wears it. The Charm increases a character’s max HP and magic power by 5% and grants them immunity to the Silence status condition. These buffs could be incredibly strong against certain enemies you face, whether they are optional foes in explored areas or story bosses in FF7 Rebirth.
Those looking to make a Psychic Charm for everyone in their party will have to fight the Mindflayer spawn multiple times. A useful strategy for farming this item is how you can challenge bosses or other enemies from Chadley’s World Intel quests over and over. This can be a great way to increase your party level in FF7 Rebirth and earn plenty of EXP for individual characters as well.
Defeating the Mindflayer spawn will get you one step closer to finishing all the World Intel missions in Junon. Anyone who manages to get the Mindflayer Crown in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth can make their favorite characters stronger for tougher challenges ahead as they explore the rest of the region.
