It is rare that I enjoy a season premiere of Summer House because, let’s be honest, it is usually the first weekend the entire cast moves in, and nothing really has popped off yet to make the episode entertaining. Cue the newbies. West Wilson has only just stepped onto the sacred land that is the Montauk mini-mansion, but already he has made quite the entrance, and it wasn’t just his sparkly cowboy hat that did the trick.
Between being the new kid on the block and friends of Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard, the rookie has a major uphill road to climb. Fans have already seen him blend pretty well with the rest of the roommates, but I venture Carl and Lindsay won’t like that one bit. Yet, he has pretty much won me over with his good looks, charming personality, and manners.
I mean, the man cooked dinner on his first day! I kinda feel like West Wilson (I can really only refer to him by his full name) might be the Marvel Bravo superhero we all needed this summer. Honestly, whoever hired him needs a raise.
West Wilson Is a Vibe
As you can tell by this overexcited article, I’m looooving West so far. Bravo has answered my prayers and finally cast a new guy who seems pretty damn normal. I was growing tired of the overdone Alpha male, who I just couldn’t find relatable. I am already rooting for a Ciara Miller love storyline, but sadly, I think my hopes may get dashed. However, I did note he and the model have a lot of photos together on his social media, so maybe the nice guy will take home the W this time.
Compared to Jesse Solomon, who came in hot with his tall, athletic stature and eyes for Paige DeSorbo, West seems to want to make connections with the rest of the roommates. On day one, he started to have real conversations with the cast, and I found myself thinking, “West would totally be the dude I’d fall for if I were in the house.” Like the ladies, I giggled at the quip, “Jesse asks if you came; West knows if you did.”
West Wilson Has Jokes
From minute one, West showed off his flare for jesting, and I have to say it is very appreciated. First, fans learned about vaginal tears and that West was a three (his poor mother!) But now I feel like all men should know what grade of tear they were just so women’s lives could be a bit more understood. I love a Mid-Western guy who hasn’t been taken over by Hollywood just yet (Yes, I’m looking at you, Toms), with West fitting the mold perfectly.
West has a comedic timing we haven’t seen on Summer House since Stephen McGee when he dressed as the Queen of Hearts. During their first family dinner, each of the cast members went around the table sharing a secret no one would have known about themselves. West noted he had proudly been to all 50 states as Jesse shared he had survived cancer twice. Without missing a beat, West turned and jokingly said, “Imagine if HE went and then “I” went.” I almost spit out my Loverboy over that comment.
West Wilson Looks Genuine
I feel like West could be our answer to Bravo’s Clark Kent. The son of a rancher radiates positivity, which is a rare quality for a reality TV star to have. He was genuinely happy for Danielle Olivera to win the darts game. That isn’t the kinda friend people come around often. He is like a small puppy who is happy to meet new people, friendly, and all around happy. West is easily someone I would want to hang out with.
And even though he was worried about the new guy, AKA Jesse, and his tall stature, he had nothing to worry about. Almost instantly, West’s charm overshadowed any good-looking guy who would have walked into the house.
I didn’t like how insecure West became thinking about what Jesse could offer, but I guess we all have those thoughts, making the interaction super realistic. But let me just say I love an average height strong in the household, so don’t be hiding Mr. West! In my opinion West is beginning back “Summer should be fun vibes” to the house. West has rejuvenated the Hamptons like the MILFS getting Botox. Hallelujah. Three cheers for our short king.
