Travel to Thailand, Dubai and Australia for less with off-peak booking deals | Travel News | Travel

Travelling in the summer can be costly, and it’s the hottest and often most expensive time of year to visit European destinations, so for those looking to travel in 2024, it could be worth considering going further afield.

Tropical destinations like Thailand and the Maldives are cheapest off-peak, and have plenty to offer all year round.

Travelbag has discounted rates on long-haul holidays when travelling off-peak – which for some destinations includes more than half the year.

In the ‘offers’ section of each destination page, there are choices of multi-centre trips, or if you know which dates you want to travel, simply pop them into the search bar to find the best deals.

A once-in-a-lifetime trip could be on the cards for those who’ve always wanted to visit Australia, as the vast country offers numerous climates.
Visiting during the country’s wintertime, which spans from June to August, offers a pleasant warmth in the northern parts of Western Australia and tropical Queensland. Temperatures are in the low-mid 20s in these areas but are slightly lower in Sydney – which can be pleasant for exploring.
Alternatively, Dubai can be reached within a seven-hour flight and is a great family or couple’s destination with so much to offer from theme parks to great beaches and glitzy Michelin-starred restaurants.
The middle-eastern destination’s off-season is April-October, when savings can be made by booking through Travelbag, and sunseekers will love the warmth and seemingly endless hours of sunlight – April and October are particularly pleasant with balmy highs of 35 degrees.

For a paradise island getaway and plenty of relaxation, many choose to visit The Maldives, which is often tipped as a top honeymoon destination for its powdery white sand and crystal-clear water.

A longer off-peak period from May – November means more choice of when to get discounted travel, and quieter resorts with a feeling of true seclusion.

With plenty of luxurious all-inclusive hotels to choose from, there’s always lots to do, even if you do encounter some rain during the trip.

Thailand is a tried and tested destination for a little bit of everything – soak up the culture while visiting temples, eating tasty street food and relaxing on the islands. Travelling in the off-peak months of July – September has its advantages, including warm but less intense temperatures and lush, green landscapes.
