face off in our first look at the long-awaited action movie sequel, The Accountant 2. Coming courtesy of Amazon MGM Studios, the first image, which is sure to have fans of the first action thriller excited to see Affleck’s accountant hitman and Bernthal’s killer security expert share the screen after almost a decade, comes with a side of release details and the first official synopsis.
Confirming that The Accountant 2 will indeed be released exclusively in theaters on April 25, it has also now been revealed that the action follow-up will have its World Premiere at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival on Saturday, March 8 at The Paramount Theatre. Directed once again by Gavin O’Connor, from a script written by returning scribe Bill Dubuque, The Accountant 2 stars Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and is produced by Ben Affleck, Lynette Howell Taylor p.g.a., Mark Williams. Released back in 2016, the first The Accountant outing follows Ben Affleck as Christian Wolff, a certified public accountant with autism who has an affinity for numbers and makes his living manipulating the books of criminal and terrorist organizations around the world that are experiencing internal embezzlement. As Wolff gets closer to the truth about a discrepancy that involves millions of dollars, the body count starts to rise as Christian reveals himself to be just as good at killing as he is at accountancy.
