Ted Lasso Season 4 could start filming any day now — or maybe already has! — and we didn’t even know the fourth season of the Apple TV+ comedy show had been officially greenlit. Well, that was until today, when a key player (or coach) of the endearing TV show starring Jason Sudeikis recorded himself announcing the postponement of his comedy tour, and let something slip. He wasn’t very subtle, though.
Nick Mohammed gives life to Nathan Shelley, aka Nate, aka the Wonder Kid, in Ted Lasso. But before the show, he played a character on screen and stage called Mr. Swallow. Currently, Mr. Swallow is on a tour across the United Kingdom, but it seems as though some obligations have forced Mohammed to change a few dates. He announced this on a video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a caption that reads as follows: “An important announcement from Mr. Swallow regarding his upcoming brand new tour: ‘Show Pony’ #tedlasso”
While this is not an official confirmation, if you watch the video, you will see a very important prop from Ted Lasso: the banner that reads BELIEVE. Mohammed’s thick accent from his alter ego can’t hide the very important message that sure seemed like a direct wink at Ted Lasso fans who are anxiously waiting for some news about Season 4. To say nothing of the #tedlasso in the post’s text.
But as Mr. Swallow put it:
“In the meantime, I would really appreciate it if people just didn’t speculate as to what they think it might be. The last thing I want is for people to be going mad.”
Do we really need anything else in order to believe the show is currently — or about to start — filming its 4th season? Mohammed’s message could mean two things: either some announcement is coming in the upcoming days, or he’s playing a prank on the entire world, giving us more reason to hate his character on the show. Speaking about that, how will they manage to bring Nate back in without the inevitable backlash from fans who have not forgotten about what he did?

6 Life Lessons You Learn From Watching ‘Ted Lasso’
‘Ted Lasso,’ the Apple TV+ beloved comedy could teach you a thing or two, and these are the most important lessons.
Does ‘Ted Lasso’s Nate Deserve Redemption?
Perhaps the more important question is: Are you prepared for Ted Lasso’s return without Ted himself? It’s hard to imagine the soccer team of AFC Richmond without Ted as the leader, teaching the underdogs that they can beat the greatest teams in the world. But by this point, there’s a chance that Ted Lasso Season 4 may happen without Jason Sudeikis as the coach of AFC Richmond. It would be a television sin, but we have to address that possibility, regardless of how much it hurts.
If that happens, Nate is inevitably taking on a big role in the club. The Season 3 finale saw him humbly returning to the team and seeking redemption for what he did when he took on the leading coach gig at Richmond’s rival club, becoming a villainous and insecure dude in the process. One of Ted’s lessons is, of course, forgiveness. But forgiving Nate won’t be easy. However, Mohammed breaking the news of Season 4 may be the beginning of a long process through which we’ll have to turn the page.
