Trump-Hannity interview on ‘solvable problems’ shows why doom-and-gloom Dems lost

President Trump is dead right about the difficulties facing the nation: “They’re all solvable problems,” he told Sean Hannity in his first sitdown since taking office.

Let’s appreciate the optimism here.

It comes in stark contrast to the “The end is nigh” rhetoric of Democrats about democracy, climate and so on down the list.

Even if we were facing clim-a-pocalypse and the return of fascism (news flash: we’re not), histrionic screaming would be no way to respond.

But Trump, pragmatic as ever, is focused on actual, real issues — the ones that gave him his mandate.

The border.

Inflation.

Crime.

And the toxic social engineering around race and gender.

All of which he rightly called out in his second inaugural.

And all of which are fixable, because our open border, sky-high inflation, persistent crime and woke insanity are not unalterable ontological necessities.

They result from very specific policy choices made by his predecessor and by Joe Biden’s party comrades down to the municipal level.

Trump gets this.

Witness his expansive slate of Day 1 executive orders, focused on common-sense things like stopping the tidal wave of illegals, breaking the Biden chokehold on energy and ending the federal government’s embrace and propagation of poisonous DEI ideology.

Lefties’ already intense whining and crying about these moves comes not only because they sense in them major policy defeats.

They also blow up the myth that somehow we have to have infinite illegal immigration — how could it ever be otherwise?

That Americans must put up with ever-soaring energy prices — nothing we can do if we’re to save the planet!

And on and on and on.

Trump’s attitude is also an important corrective to many in his own party, who blink at taking the actions needed to get America out of decline.

As Ronald Reagan put it, “Let us go forth with good cheer and stout hearts — happy warriors out to seize back a country and a world to freedom.”

Just the message America needs to hear.
