This pretty town is just a small distance away from Dubrovnik and you can see both places this summer as part of one exciting trip.
Cavtat is a small town just nine miles away from Dubrovnik in Croatia and it’s worth visiting.
You won’t find the same crowds of tourists filling its streets as in Dubrovnik, but instead you’ll be able to enjoy the area and wander around its peaceful streets on your break.
One of the most popular places to visit is the Old Town which is filled with restaurants, cafes and independent boutiques to explore.
A visitor took to Tripadvisor and said: “Such an understated beautiful place. We went at the beginning of the season. The scenery is beautiful, very reminiscent of Italy.”
Another penned: “Just returned from our holiday in Cavtat. My daughter and I had a lovely time. Cavtat is so beautiful. Plenty of places to eat, day trips arranged by the harbour, the people are so friendly and helpful.
“I can’t wait to return. I wouldn’t come again in August, far too hot. But definitely May time.”
You can get from Cavtat to Dubrovnik in just 25 minutes by car, meaning you could even just take a day trip to the area as part of your trip.
Another must-see spot is the seaside promenade which is a perfect place to take a walk and enjoy the views.
The promenade is tranquil and features a scenic harbour, it is more relaxed and quieter than Dubrovnik but still has a good range of bars and restaurants along the waterfront.
From the harbour, you can take a ferry to Dubrovnik if you’re hoping to travel by sea rather than by car to the city.
If you want to go for a swim, there are also places here where you can get into the water and take a dip.
Cavtat is a perfect place to visit if you are looking for a holiday with stunning scenery, rich history, and relaxed atmosphere.
