Denise Richards has been sharing a lot about not just her present reality but her past too on her new show Denise Richards & Her Wild Things. And in the most recent episode we learn about Denise’s years-long friendship with Patrick Muldoon, how it threatened her ex Charlie Sheen, and how her husband Aaron Phypers feels about it.
The former Real Housewife of Beverly Hills is given the chance to be more candid about all aspects of her life on her new reality show. Fans are enjoying seeing her day-to-day life. And they’re also getting to learn about how some parts of Denise’s past have remained in her present.
Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards have an interesting history
Part of that past that is still fully present in her life thanks to their children Sami Sheen and Lola Sheen, is her ex-husband Charlie. But Charlie’s not the only ex she has kept in touch with. Denise is also still good friends with ex-boyfriend Patrick Muldoon who the actress dated in the late 90s.
Denise reveals though that she didn’t speak to Patrick during her tumultuous marriage to Charlie. This was because Charlie was so jealous of their deep friendship.
“I did not speak to Pat when I was married to Charlie,” she explained. “It was hard because I didn’t want to lose him a a ‘friend’ friend. But, towards the end of our marriage, I talked to him all the time about him.”
Denise and Charlie split in 2006 and it looks like the actress has continued her friendship with Patrick. She met him for lunch on the show to talk about being in his music video and even joked that it was based on her as she was “the girl that got away.”
How does Denise’s current husband Aaron Phypers feel about this? Just fine. And Denise is grateful that Aaron respects their friendship. He was even cool with Denise kissing her ex in the music video. Although Sami may share some of father’s sentiment about Patrick saying that she thinks he may still have feelings for her mom.
“I don’t want to get him in trouble, but I feel like he might still have feelings for my mom,” she teased while watching them shoot the video. She even joked that Patrick told the director to have him kiss Denise 500 times during shooting.
