Haikyu!! Second Movie Is Finally Officially Confirmed

After one year of the successful Haikyuu!! movie that adapted the long-awaited match between Karasuno and Nekoma, a new film has been announced, and the contents are definitely the pinnacle of the series. Furthermore, there are other exciting side-projects that promise to treat fans of the series for some time.

The official X account confirmed that Haikyuu!!’s next movie has been officially announced, and it is titled “VS The Little Giant“. The post went extremely viral, garnering 11 million interactions, showing just how anticipated the new content is. A key visual and a teaser video accompanied the news, showing the many teams Karasuno had to go through to get to where they are. With the movie adapting the match against Kamo Medai, arguably the match in the series, Haikyuu!!’s next movie could very well be the installment in the series if it is adapted right.

The Battle of the Little Giants Is Almost Upon Us

The Showdown Between Hinata And Hoshiumi Is Here

The movie will adapt the highly awaited match between Karasuno and Kamo Medai, and it is no wonder fans are hyped. It will cover 30 chapters worth of material, from chapters #338 to #368. Besides Susumu Mitsunaka coming back to direct the movie, the staff and cast have not been revealed yet, but fans can more or less expect most of the main voice actors to reprise their roles. This will be the final movie of the franchise, as confirmed in 2022.

Furthermore, a TV anime titled Where Monsters Go will also be released, which will adapt the short but incredible match between Fukurodani and Mujinazaka. The match is 11 chapters, so it will most likely be 3 to 4 episodes in an OVA format, which was how the match between Nekoma and Nohebi was released.

These two projects contain some of the best moments in the series. The dynamic between Hinata Shoyo and Hoshiumi Korai is one that is particularly beloved and anticipated, and this match makes an insane progression for their characters. While past matches have featured Hinata maintaining an important role alongside his other teammates, this one will see him burst on the scene and show just how amazing of a protagonist he is. Furthermore, a very mysterious and exciting character will finally appear in the movie.

Haikyuu!!’s Next Movie Will Be The Best Yet

While there is some criticism about how Haikyuu!!’s first movie covered the source material, particularly by removing content, it was still a pretty good adaptation that made a trip to the theaters worth it. If this upcoming movie does the Battle of the Little Giants justice, there is very little doubt that it will be the peak of the anime and one of the best anime movies of whichever year it will be released in.
