Uma Thurman’s vengeful Bride showed no mercy against the man she once loved and later spurned (David Carradine) after he and his Deadly Viper cronies left her for dead in Kill Bill: Volume 1. The first of Quentin Tarantino’s action-packed duology followed The Bride as she confronted and killed Copperhead (Vivica A. Fox) and Cottonmouth (Lucy Liu), and now fans can relive all the twisted movie magic when Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 begin streaming April Fools’ Day for free on Tubi.
Kill Bill: Volume 1 impressed not only the critics but fans, too, when it dropped in theaters in Oct. 2003. The intricate action sequences and compelling storytelling led to the must-see film registering a “Certified Fresh” 85% on the Tomatometer against 239 reviews posted to Rotten Tomatoes. The RT fans also rated Volume 1 at 81% on the Popcornmeter, but those who actually saw the flick in theaters enjoyed it even more, which resulted in it pulling down a “B+” CinemaScore. Thurman’s first go-round as The Bride also scored huge numbers at the box office during its original theatrical run.

‘Kill Bill: Volume 2’ Didn’t Bloody Disappoint
Fans of The Bride only had to wait six months to see if one of the most iconic action heroines could cross off every name on her kill list and take out Sidewinder (Michael Madsen) and, last but not least, the Snake Charmer/Bill (Carradine) in Kill Bill: Volume 2. No spoilers here, but the Thurman-led sequel didn’t disappoint the critics or fans. In fact, the film’s “Certified Fresh” Rotten Tomatoes score of 84% was only one point lower than the original’s 85% Tomatometer rating.
Kill Bill: Volume 2 was clearly the fan-favorite of Quentin Tarantino’s beloved duology. Those who rated the movie on Rotten Tomatoes gave the sequel an 89% Popcornmeter rating, formerly the RT audience score, and those who saw it in theaters enjoyed it even more. Volume 2 garnered an “A-” CinemaScore. However, the sequel didn’t make quite as much money in theaters as the original, but it was still a bona fide box office hit.
The Bride’s second go-round made $66.2 million domestically and another $87.9 million overseas for a global take of $154.1 million against a production budget of only $30 million. Kill Bill: Volume 1 and Kill Bill: Volume 2 both begin streaming Tuesday, April 1, for free on Tubi. Fans of The Bride and her iconic adversaries can also watch the badass martial artist take her bloody revenge in Quentin Tarantino’s must-see duology on Peacock, Hulu, and Disney+ (premium subscription).
