Ryanair has announced a new subscription service in the hope of attracting more regular passengers to the airline. For an annual fee, Europe’s largest airline will be offering benefits to those who sign onto the subscription branded as Ryanair Prime. The hard and soft advantages include free reserved seats, free travel insurance and access to member-exclusive seat sales once a month to allow prime members to secure the “best flight bargains” throughout the year.
The service, which was launched Monday, March 24, is said to allow members who fly 12 times a year to save up to £420, more than five times the £79 prime subscription cost, as per Ryanair. Those who fly up three times a year will also cash in on the savings. Ryanair claims that those passengers will save £105.
Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Dara Brady, said: “Ryanair has been delivering the lowest fares (and the best services) in Europe for the last four decades, and we’re now extending our price leadership with the launch of our exciting new subscriber discount scheme – Ryanair ‘Prime’.
“Ryanair ‘Prime’ is a new subscriber discount scheme for frequent flyers that want to fly regularly but don’t want to break the bank to do so. Costing a modest £79 for a full 12-subscription, Ryanair ‘Prime’ members will benefit from access to 12 exclusive annual seat sales (one each month), free reserved seats, and free travel insurance every time they fly with Europe’s No.1 airline.”
The membership is limited to only 250,000 on a first-come, first-served basis, so those interested must quickly register on the airline’s website. Those who sign up also have the option to add a Ryanair Prime Companion to their subscription for an additional voucher fee.
In the fiscal year ending March 2024, Ryanair carried a whopping 184 million passengers, and between January 2024 and February 2025, customer satisfaction hit 85% or more every single month.
Dara Bardy described signing up to the service as a “no-brainer” for those who enjoy flying regularly.
Currently, Ryanair Prime is only offered to people resident in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, UK, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Passengers who sign up for the new service must be at least 18 years old.
