Naruto: Shippuden is one of the best shōnen series of all time, and the amazing fights in the series are a huge part of that. Naruto: Shippuden took the fights that Naruto laid the groundwork for to the next level. All the franchise’s best characters are significantly stronger in the sequel series, leading to fights on such a bigger scale, the two series can barely be compared.
The best fights in Naruto: Shippuden are great for a variety of reasons. Some are great because of how intimate they are, showing an emotional struggle through physical conflict. Others stand out due to their sheer cinematography. Even people who have never seen Naruto: Shippuden before know about the greatest fights in the series. It doesn’t take a dedicated fan to appreciate the majesty found in the series, and the franchise’s fights put that quality front and center.

Madara Vs. The Shinobi Alliance
Madara’s Strength Is On An Entirely Different Level
Madara Uchiha is one of the strongest villains in Naruto. He’s also one of the strongest and smartest characters in general. He’s so smart that he basically orchestrated the entire Fourth Great Ninja War by himself while he was dying. Not only did he start a war as an old man, but he was able to reincarnate so that he could participate as well.
Few living ninja knew of Madara Uchiha. They had heard his name, but had no idea how truly terrifying the villain was. For the few that did remember the legendary Uchiha, his reintroduction to the series was one of the worst things that could have happened. His return to the battlefield was a huge blow for the Allied Shinobi Forces. Madara alone is strong enough to take down an entire army, and during the Fourth Great Ninja War, he basically did.
Madara’s return to the series is one of the greatest one-man-army moments in anime. Kabuto reincarnates him using the forbidden technique and even gives Madara a bit of a boost to his power. Madara tries his new strength on an entire regiment of enemy soldiers.
Madara flies through the Allied Shinobi Forces effortlessly. He’s barely even trying, and the Allied Shinobi Forces can’t even get close to him. It’s such an amazing fight because it shows just how much stronger Madara is than any normal soldier. Even Naruto can’t believe what he’s seeing, as the legendary Uchiha is even stronger than he could have imagined.

Sasori Vs. Sakura And Chiyo
One Of The Most Exciting And Layered Fights In Naruto: Shippuden
Sakura and Chiyo’s fight against Sasori might be the closest thing in Naruto: Shippuden to a fight from Naruto. The characters in Shippuden get so much stronger than their Naruto counterparts that the fights barely look the same. Sakura’s fight highlights that ninja don’t need to be gods to have a great fight — they just need a bit of tenacity.
Sakura has always been a third wheel to Sasuke and Naruto. Not only has she been far behind the two in terms of strength, but Naruto made her seem like more of a burden than an ally. That all changed in Naruto: Shippuden. Studying under Lady Tsunade, Sakura finally got to a point where she could compete with the two boys.

Sakura has long proven that she belongs in Team 7 and is no longer a burden to the Seventh Hokage and his Shadow Hokage.
Sakura’s fight against Sasori was a turning point in her character arc. She went up against one of the strongest, most deceptive Akatsuki members and did very well. The fight is also exceptional because of how fun it is. Sasori controls puppets better than anyone, and Chiyo answers his strength by using Sakura as a puppet as well.
Sakura’s unreal strength and determination are key factors in the fight. Even though it looks like Sasori has the edge several times, she doesn’t care. She obliterates his shell and every puppet thrown her way in one of the series’ best fights.

Might Guy Vs. Madara
Guy Finally Unlocks The Gate Of Death
Might Guy is one of the coolest characters in anime. He can use Chakra but chooses not to. Instead, he focuses all of his energy on his taijutsu, taking his hand-to-hand combat to an entirely different level. He also taught Rock Lee everything he knew, creating an absolute beast of a ninja in the process.
Madara Uchiha quickly ascended to near-godhood. He acquired the Rinnegan and a few abilities that made him basically untouchable. When the Allied Shinobi Force realized that only physical attacks would work on him, there was only one ninja that could do something about it — Might Guy.
Might Guy sacrificed everything in his fight against Madara, unlocking the final Gate of the Eight Gates — The Gate of Death. He unlocked the final gate and flew directly at Madara, hitting the Uchiha with a barrage of attacks that even his new abilities couldn’t stop.
“Of all those who have fought me over the years, there’s no one who surpasses you in taijutsu! I, Madara, declare you the strongest!” – Madara Uchiha to Might Guy
It was an incredible fight unlike any other in the series because Guy didn’t use any ninjutsu at all. He was even able to break Madara’s ribs and earned Madara’s affection during the fight, two feats no other ninja had been able to accomplish at that point in the series.

Kakashi Vs. Obito
A Fight That Transcends Time
Kakashi’s fight against Obito is Naruto: Shippuden at its very best. There are a handful of fights in Shippuden that define the series as one of the best anime of all time, and Kakashi vs. Obito is absolutely one of them. Kakashi’s against his former rival and teammates is phenomenal for several reasons.
First, the emotion behind the fight is gripping to say the least. Kakashi has always held Obito close to him. He was always late to his meetings with Team Seven, and the series later reveals that it’s because he stopped by Obito’s grave every day. He hated that Obito had died, and he felt incredibly betrayed by the fact that not only was Obito alive, but he had become evil, turning on Kakashi, their master Minato, and the village.

Kakashi is one of Naruto’s most iconic characters, and that has created some truly incredible moments fans still remember.
The fight itself is exceptional. It doesn’t have any music supporting it, and while that may seem like a downside, it’s anything but. The only sound from the fight comes from the two ninjas’ blows. The animation is on another level as well.
The best part of the fight is the interweaving of past and present. Kakashi’s current fight with Obito is set against their fight in the past, showing that they’re still fighting like they used to. The difference now is that the scale of their conflict is on an entirely different level.

Itachi Vs. Sasuke
Fighting As Only Brothers Could
Itachi’s fight against Sasuke had been set up from the beginning of Naruto. Sasuke dedicated himself to becoming strong for the sole purpose of defeating his older brother and avenging his clan. At this point in the series, he had no idea of Itachi’s true intentions, and that’s exactly what Itachi wanted.
Itachi is the best villain in Naruto: Shippuden because he isn’t a villain at all. He’s never actually evil, like any of the other villains in the series. Everything that Itachi does is for the village and for his little brother, Sasuke. He became the villain he needed to be to save his village from a dangerous civil war and to give his brother the motivation he needed to get stronger.
Even when Sasuke comes to kill Itachi, Itachi couldn’t be prouder of his little brother. Their fight is amazing because it is Sasuke at the peak of his rage. He’s wanted this fight since he was a boy, and after years of brutal training, he finally gets it.
Itachi fights deliberately. He draws the fight out as long as possible to draw Orochimaru out of Sasuke’s body, sealing him using the Sword of Totsuka — saving his little brother yet again. He even orchestrated the fight so that Sasuke would get his Mangekyō Sharingan, ensuring Sasuke wouldn’t go blind and that he would get the extremely powerful Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan as well.

Naruto Vs. Sasuke
The Final Fight Of Naruto: Shippuden
Naruto’s final fight against Sasuke is everything that Naruto: Shippuden had been working towards. For most of Shippuden, Sasuke was more of a villain than a hero. He was taught by Orochimaru, joined forces with the Akatsuki, and even tried to kill Sakura on more than one occasion. When he decided to become the Hokage, allying himself with the Allied Shinobi Forces, his former allies were unsure of his true intentions to say the least.
It turns out that they were right to doubt their former friend. Once the Fourth Great Ninja War had finally come to an end, Sasuke used his new Rinnegan to trap all the Tailed Beasts. He thought that if he killed all the Tailed Beasts and the Five Kage, he would finally be free. He blamed the entire world for Itachi’s actions and wanted to take his revenge.

Sasuke Uchiha is one of Naruto’s most famous characters, and throughout the series’ epic run, Sasuke has provided plenty of captivating scenes.
Naruto was the only one stopping him. Their final fight is a testament to both of their incredible wills — neither one was willing to give an inch. Their fight has a lot of similarities with Obito’s fight against Kakashi. Neither fight had any music. Instead, they both let the sound of punches, kicks, and incredible jutsu take center stage.
Both fights were also a journey through time itself. Naruto’s final fight against his rival and best friend showed all of their fights at once. It showed their first fight in the Ninja Academy, their last fight in the Valley of the End, and ultimately, their final fight against one another.

Naruto Vs. Pain
A Fight That Pushes Naruto: Shippuden Beyond Its Limits
The best fight in Naruto: Shippuden is Naruto’s fight against Pain, full stop. The fight is amazing before it even starts. Naruto’s arrival is amazing. He shows up to his devastated village stronger than ever, and he quickly proves it by destroying one of Pain’s bodies in a single attack.
Naruto uses Sage Jutsu better than anyone in the series after just learning it. Even though he was outnumbered by Pain seven to one, he couldn’t care less. He fights with a ferocity only he could pull off, and it works. He even loses control to Kurama during the middle of the fight, but regains himself just in time to finish the fight in style.
Naruto’s fight against Pain pushes Naruto: Shippuden’s animation beyond its limit. Their fight moves so quickly that it can be hard to see at times, but that just makes the fight even better.
