Since the moment JT Thomas stepped foot into the friend group, he has been trouble. Personally, I’ve loved watching JT on Southern Charm, especially when he held Austen Kroll accountable. This season, he has been made out to be the villain. And while I think he hasn’t exactly helped himself, I don’t think JT is a bad guy.
Why Did JT Thomas Leave Southern Charm?
Shortly before Southern Charm Season 10 premiered, JT made a stunning statement regarding his place on the series. JT took to his Instagram to share that he would be leaving the show before wrapping up his final confessional commentary. The Charleston resident wrote, “It comes with a heavy heart to share that I have resigned from Southern Charm.” JT continued, “Yesterday, I informed Bravo that I would not participate in the 2-3 remaining green room interviews.”
JT added, “I no longer wish to participate in any way moving forward with the TV show. I will leave it at that for now.” As the Southern Charm star signed off, he wrote, “While I work on the next steps to recover both physically and mentally from what has been an extremely challenging and exhausting year.” Many were unsure if JT would even commit to taping the reunion. But when Bravo dropped the seating chart, JT was right there. It’s good that he will be coming to the reunion, as he can finally share his side of the story.
Are JT Thomas and Venita Aspen dating?
As Southern Charm fans know, Venita Aspen has said that she and JT were, in fact, dating up until the trailer for the new season dropped. It was then that JT went MIA in their friendship. The entire season has been a rollercoaster of emotions thanks to their flirtation. In episode 8, JT shared in his confessional, “The bond between Venita and I, it’s a beautiful thing. And timing can be a mean mother f*cker, I guess. We do have this great friendship.” He continued, “So now we know there’s a line that we don’t cross. That’s kind of how it works.”
The fashion influencer had a major crush on JT as she swooned over him in a blue T-shirt. She shared, “JT’s my best friend first.” She also added that if he did have a girlfriend, “That also means that me being flirty and cutesy with you is done.” During the same conversation, the two admitted to having feelings for one another. “There’s something, right? Like, you know that there’s chemistry here? I do. Do I know we have chemistry? And am I attracted to you? Yes, and yes.”
Why Does JT Thomas’s girlfriend have beef with Venita Aspen?
After it became obvious that Venita was played not only by JT but also by Bravo producers, she released a statement. V took to Instagram, writing, “Let me make something VERY CLEAR. That dinner JT and I had after I made a Branzino was AFTER the Bahamas yall as an audience saw it BEFORE. So this week’s episode is now making me look like I’m a home-wrecker when I’m not,” she continued. “I know what I signed up for, but I also will not allow the world to think I’m that woman when I’m not.”
Venita spoke out on The Viall File, sharing that Ali Pereless tried to “annihilate” her. She added the girl “That he was dating, that I was unaware of. And basically, like, calls me out on my name. And I was just like, ‘Hey, I don’t know what’s going on with this. I need you to put a handle on it.’ And he was like, ‘I can’t do anything about it.’” Ali has not stayed quiet. In fact, she took to Instagram, writing, “Venita met me as Jarrett’s girlfriend at dinner with bunny last April pre-filming, but I appreciate her trying to save face. Happy to send receipts.”
JT has been lying low since announcing his retirement from reality TV. However, he has been highlighting recap videos for the current season and adding fuel to the fire with cheeky videos. Hopefully, the reunion will provide a bit of clarity.
